I've got a few more pictures to share.

First look at the Storm Fang wip.

These are 2 colors and a wash so far. I had lots of trouble with my air brush, it needs a really good cleaning.

Based coal Black, troll blood blue is the second color not covering the whole model, just in spots. and a Black/Blue wash I made a few years ago.

A few weeks ago now I fit my contemptor with a heavy conversion beamer. I'm not a fan of having lost the contemptor and plan to just use him anyway. I'm also not sure if he's very good for as many points as he costs. Not too worried about it.

Did some repair on a few Storm Claws. This time with plastic cement.

Nice and schwifty.

Here's a cleaner look at the Wolf Priest. The red is suppose to be "look like blood", not real blood.

Another pack leader or hero. Maybe a lone wolf.

More long fangs.

And some Logan wip.

Several of these models were started early this month or some time over the last year or more so they didn't need as much time to get them "presentable".

I think that's about it for right now.

I just realized I have been calling my Stormwolves by the wrong name. I've called the Stormfangs.

Which leads me to ask what you think of the stormfang and how it's worked out in your games.

In a way it reminds me of a god hammer Land Raider. I see it flying in and destroying tanks or walkers. A very dedicated shooter.

I don't know what I would even transport within it. Maybe just 3 TDA wolf guard. 

Right now it's on the "to get list".

A few more pictures. I spent some time on my Iron priest and another character.

These were started many moons ago.

He didn't look wolfy enough so I Green stuffed the pelt onto his cape.

He may end up with a Storm Shield. His open hand is too low and looks a bit out of place.

Yesterday I rounded up my remaining TDA wolf guard.

3 thunder hammer Storm shields, 5 dual wolf claws. Not they have been base coated, washed and this week in the evenings will get time on my painting table.

I've also rounded up two more multi melta marines, this makes three in all. I'm reusing a few of my wolf totem grey hunters as long fangs, no reason not to, and have bitz ordered two more multi meltas for the pack.

I also ordered my last thunder wolf, I only needed one more for a full unit. 

I like just ordering what I need for a project. I have a load of bits and don't really want a bunch more.

Recently I saw Triszin's thread and there in did see a character with amazing wolf claws!

(Credit where it's due)

I'm not trying to reproduce what Triszin has done, it was the inspiration for the claws on my void claws.

Looking at them this morning I see how poorly I put the colors on as I have layered them and not blended them.

My void claws wip.

I may have got too far with the colors they looked good before the yellow and even with out the blazing orange they did "pop" against the darker colors. Maybe a red ink or wash would work them back in. Not sure about that yet.

I thought these would look extra special as void claws have all manner of extra special rules above the TDA wolf guard units.

This marks them out and will be reflected in their kill tally.

I spent some time on the Metal Dreadnought yesterday and after posting a picture in a group a friend said "you can do better than that, make me believe it's a Space wolf".

My reply, "Challenge accepted."

And this is how it's turned out so far.

I wasn't very sure I wanted to Green Stuff a pelt for this guy. I think you really have to be careful with this sort of thing. But then I said to my self..Screw it..

And here we are. I kept thinking Rollo as a dreadnought. This should leave me two more Dreds to work out one is from Black reach the other is a Chaplin Dred, soonish to be a wolf priest dred. And lastly the contemptor who I want to really be careful with. Don't want to ruin it. I paid full Price for it! I'm also thinking about dropping the power fist from the contemptor for another ranged weapon. I so have the special assault cannon for it but have not looked to see if it is any good. ( stats on it?)

Next on the list... A slayer of much fame !

Update.

My bitz order arrived the other day!

Between yesterday evening and this evening I have my newly arrives thunder wolf and rider build and base coated!

I decided to add a second Wolf Claw to the pack. Mostly due to the +1 to strength and shred.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this here but I am near the end of my list. I have only a few more models I want to buy and then that's it.

Right now my wish list is 1 storm fang, 1 murder dred, the Space wolves bitz pack and a few bit from ebay. ( I need two Dred arms to finish another derd.)

I've looted 5 bikers and an attack bike from my Dark Angels models, these are Space Marine bikers not Dark Angel bikers. And am eyeballing two more Speeders from there as well as a predator tank. not decided on the tank just yet.

Last month I thought I was going to be starting a Dark Angels army and it was a nice plan. I do like their codex but don't know that I wasn't to buy those models er..more models.

So that idea has been shelved. at this rate I may not even get to them this edition. Which is fine.

The wolves are close to done and it's only taken 5 years and 3 editions..

Gearing up for a 3K game on Wednesday this coming week. My opponent is playing Dark Angels and has mentioned Deathwing and the Ravenwing Support squadron. Not sure what else he's planning to bring. He plays very aggressively. 

I am expecting Ragnarok. 

And with that thinking about deep striking my army into his deployment zone. he needs to be brought to heel quickly or we die.

 

AH, I've also got my new Multi melta long fangs just about ready! have to find two heads for the last two! I'm thinking about trying Long fangs in pods with TDA WGPL's. to tank shooting and I want to try Ulrik as well in this list anything to bring the pain.

Had a productive weekend. I've repaired my three ugly Landspeeder typhoons added flamers to two Skyclaws and started to paint the Metallic trim on the Storm Wolves. And finally have several colors put onto my Plasma Obliterator!

Not going to take pictures of the ugly speeders. Not for a while, their too ugly still.

I played against the Dark Angels yesterday. I won 10 to 1 in Big guns never tire. However, I played orks and not wolves.

This victory was better earned and more meaningful in a way. Wolves are just all around better. Orks are an army I have loved and collected for...15 years now... something like that. this edition hasn't been overly kind to them.

The Dark Angels were ...not very well organised and felt like I was playing the TAU. Who tries to gunline with bikers any way.

Over all they are not to be feared.

Today I think it's time to set the wolves aside for a little while. I'm nearly done with a commission and I need to really get stuck in and finish up. When I get back to working on them, it hit me today, I am going to repaint all my wolf claws to match my "Void claws" That will really look good all over the army. Might do that to the power weapons as well. And I am going to ass an airbrushed purple glow to all my plasma weapons. It will look sick! 

My current client has been asking me if I'd sell him my wolves so I think just a few extra bits will help seal the deal at my asking price. If he really wants them. Or I'll still have them and it's all good! 

Not much more to add. Hope to post some progress again in a month!

So about what I said earlier. I sorta started painting all the wolf claws this evening while watching 13th warrior.

Much time has passed. 

 

Today I made my Preorder for the Curse of the wulfen and a few boxes as well as ordered a few other things.

 

Despite my lack of quick progress I have been working off some of the tasks on my list. I have repaired several Land Speeders, painted a few more TWC, Worked on Bjorn just a bit more. Today I have been going through my unfinished models which were set aside a few moths back. This evening I will base coat another dreadnought. His arms, axe and shield were ordered today.

I'm very excited for all the bitz in the wulfen kits. Exciting times indeed.

This will be an ongoing project for a few weeks or months. 
As long as it holds my attention.
I hope to play a few games with the wolves as well. We'll just have to see how it goes.

I've reached a stopping point for now, just waiting for the rest of him to arrive.

I added washes to the wings ans skulls and other spots. He's turning out nicely.

Just a few days later and some of my bitz have arrived! In the little envelope I found a Dread shield and a pair of arms. Curiously no Axe... I've contacted the seller, surly just a little mistake... Hope they send out the Axe without any trouble. I think I used them a few times over the last two years and hadn't had any trouble with them before so I am still positive they'll take care of my issue.

 

I'll be working on Dread arms and a Shield this evening! Pictures again soon.

Having see the Art in the soon to be released book. I'm really glad I didn't buy the limited edition set. I hate just about all of the art I have seen so far in the rumors thread. I'm seriously thinking about canceling my preorder. 
The "art' in the more recent releases. 
I'll just think this over tonight. 
I keep thinking, I really like the direction the rules portion are going but as a whole product. I don't even have to fear for what ever the Orks get next (My main collection nearing 20K points) 
It's just maddening. 

 

On a lighter note, I have ordered just a few more Bitz to complete my Dread. The Bitz seller gave me a refund on the Axe that they didn't ship. For that I am very grateful. 
I also pulled another dread out of my box to finish up. He'd only ever been started.

I requested a refund this morning and it's been granted. I'll find a copy of this weekends White Dwarf for the wulfen rules in hard copy. I'm glad it's resolved for me. I know a lot of people claim to vote with their wallets and I'm working to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.  Honestly My reaction really surprised me. I have never felt this kind of disgust at a GW product before.

And finally some wip.

This one used to have a wolf totem but he's been moved up in the ranks. He's the fourth Wolf Claw Wolf Guardsmen. fourth pack member. I'm thinking about promoting a few more.

The shield is looking much like the ones my TWC have.

The runes may be painted blue and white. with a frosty look. A bit of fire and ice.

I spent some time retouching the paint on some speeders, they're coming a long.

As is the last dreadnought

I'm thinking about pulling the pilots out of the Storm Fangs and painting the glass. It might speed things up a little.
