I now have 5 wulfen assembled, primed and base coated. Once the base coat drys I added the zenith highlight. They're so much easier to see with a little paint. I tried to get pictures of them unpainted but wan't happy with that at all.

One more box to build over next week as well as finish up a few more infantry and I'm calling it don for a while I have several vehicles to repaint but I need to spend some time rethinking my methods. As long as the humidity stays down I have the option of Hairspray and salt for rust. I don't feel my vehicles have looked very good at all and have received the least amount of attention.

Pictures this evening.

I've had no real time to mess with my Wulfen until this evening.
I'm working on their flesh tones now. They were base coated...Saturday or Sunday morning. My advice to airbrush users is to leave the heads as separate parts to paint. I'm having loads of trouble due to the wulfens "big hair" These guys are totally into glam rock.....

No idea when I'll have pictures worth looking at. Shortly I'll be abandoning this project for a greener one. No time table on that.
Best bet is to follow my work in progress on my blog. Link below.
Although I've had no time to blog or post pictures in a few weeks. Still. shameless plug? because shameless plug?

It occurred to me today that my old counts as Logan isn't needed any more. I have the "new plastic Logan" so I can repurpose My count as. I'm thinking I want another wolf lord in TDA

I'm still unsure of using a named grand company.
I should have some wulfen wip pictures over the weekend.

No! I like that! I didn't like the idea of black-vest-carapace.

Ok, fine. Have it your way. lol

Honestly I thought they were bare chested and I thought it was a reference to prospero burns.

If you hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't have noticed at all. I had hardly even looked at the picture on the box.

And

I think I'll build 2 more storm shields and two more Axe guys from the next box.

I think Wulfen are going to be really over the top.

More wip pictures again soonish.

The axe looks awesome, and Ilike what you are doing with the wulfen.

For metallic red,, have you considered blending from black through to silver then a very thin glaze of bloodletter, followed with a silver edge highlight?

Thank you! I'm looking forward to having more time to work on them. Lots still to do.

When I was thinking about those metallics I was remembering old reaper paints I think. I might try some red ink. I like ink.

Haven't heard of Bloodletter glaze, I guess it's a newer GW. I kinda don't use much new GW paint right now. But I'll keep it in mind and give it a shot!

UPDATE!

The Leviathan Dreadnought has arrived!

I sat up late into the night working on the Leviathan.

The upper body was easy enough to assemble I've just about got the arms and legs sorted out as well. I'll be calling a halt to an further construction until I've built up the base with some rubble.

So much excitement!

In a bunch of excitement I put two coats of pain on the Leviathan last night after dark, the Wulfen as well.

I'm none too pleased with the Leviathan. The dark to light color change was applied wrong and not the way I usually do for vehicles. So I'll have to start over. Thank goodness airbrushing puts paint on models so thinly. No real harm done just have to do it over again. It will be completely worth it. I want it to look nice and dark. It should look ancient and wicked, not to be fooled with.

I want it bring a feeling of dread when it arrives to battle. Pictures over the weekend for sure.

Before.

I hope the difference is easy to see.

I went back to the airbrush and repainted the Coal Black (by P3)

Then added back in the Troll Blood Blue. (P3) This was put on using a very low psi as the paint was very thinned down and the distance to the model was very close.

After that I once again washed they armour with my Blue/Black wash. I made the wash using an APJ Less tutorial several years ago.

No weathering. I will try to add a bit at the end.

The Leviathan Dreadnought model looks so great. I'm feeling like I'm in love with it. Your work looks great so far, uberwolve! Is that cork on the base? Or how did you base that?

Seeing all the great work people have been doing with airbrushes has gotten me to purchase a small compressor and airbrush kit. I'm going to start practicing on some old models and hopefully develop those skills as well.

Thank you. Yes it's cork. I got a bunch of models last year over ebay and one of the lots I won had a bunch of cork in it. Lucky me!

I started with the airbrush in 2010 ish. something like that. I mostly use it for primer, sealer and base coats. There's a learning curve to it but if you take it slow you'll get it. There are  lot of tutorials out there check them all out.

There really good for flat surfaces too..
