Sold my box of Leman Russ tanks and something else. So now I am up to 400 dollas. Will be getting another 100 pretty soon.

 

Guess maybe it's time to look at getting some Forgeworld goodness? At base I need a sicaran and a doredo. After that, not sure what else except for some pads and heavy weapons (Lascannons, volkites). Except for the volkites, kind of sorta looking for something that I can use in 40k as well. Decisions, Decisions...

I had a fun game against Tau today. My opponent conceded after turn 2, although the game was much closer than it may sound from that. I was able to alpha-strike his alpha-striking units on turn 1 with Death Company and my Captain and managed to quickly roll up that flank while at  the same time my Inceptors and Reivers were busily capturing or contesting the backfield objectives.

Had two games with my Lamenters today, it was also my first time using the new codex!  First game was a loss against the Thousand Sons, and the second was a win in a zone mortalis game against Imperial Guard.  Sadly I did not get any pictures... I'll have to remember to snap a few next time.

Possibly the bloodiest game I've ever had, vs guard playing maelstrom.

First turn, I managed to tie up 1 russ, kill 1 with a captain, and shot the 3rd and final one with a venator so hard it knocked it into its last profile and made it need 7s to hit, and about 1/3 of his total infantry, which numbered around 135 or so.

He played smart and was still racking up points, while shooting down enough to keep us even all the way to turn 4.

I pulled ahead from there, but game didn't actually end until turn 7, when a furioso on its last legs charged and destroyed the last guard model on the table, his chimera.

Leaving me with 4 scouts, 2 damaged quad mortars, a wounded sicaran venator, and said furioso with 3 wounds left, out of a 2000 pt list.

 

Highlights include a company commander with a power fist passing 7 consecutive refractor field saves vs thunder hammers, and then killing all 3 vets holding them, and marbo popping up and killing a librarian, only to be cut down by a quad mortar leveling the building he was hiding in.

Final score was 24 to 18, and victory for the Angels.

Awwwww had i just checked this part of the forum yesterday and saw the blood and zeal event.

Got some much needed hobby time last night and made my captain smashypants.

Was a rather simple kitbash compared to what i wanted to do. But this way i actually got it done insteadt of just scouering the room for bits. Also i didnt see any need for the dc chap model anymore.

 

 

I've magnetized the head so i can change it if i regret the death mask. When i get better at painting bare heads i might go for something with fangs and blood around his mouth.

I've been looking at some scout bikers also, just a 3-5 man squad, because all that dakka + infiltrate.

 

Just some thoughts. Eldar are really good, but some of it is based on set up and positioning! Cheers Mate, keep up the good fight!

Oh yeah, I think I positioned myself terribly. It doesn't help that I can't roll higher than a 2+ and my opponent only rolls 5+ (seriously he makes 6+ saves better than I can make a 3+). I have already spent close to $50 on different sets of dice, so I'm done buying anymore. I can't think of anything more demoralizing than shooting your self in the foot every game with poor dice rolls, but what can you do *shrugs

Absolutely brutal game against the Black Legion commanded by brother captain corpus. Main highlight:

 

DCD gets a charge against BL TDA squad. Played Vengeance for Sanguinious (exploding dice against BL on a 4+) which generated nine hits to wipe the squad. I then played Honour the Chapter to move into combat with Abaddon where I got ten hits that did the fourteen damage required to kill him outright.

 

I still feel bad about it...

Not a Bad list. Ynnari are really something else. I would try to find a way to get some Lascannons and Grav in that list (If it is available).

 

I've been wanting to bring the grav-bomb back, accompanied by Mephiston and a Captain.

Not to sound heretical but sometimes dice must be sacrificed to the dice gods. Your least favorite nay need to see a lighter, or a drill bit through one of the pips. Possibly the hammer ritual. Make sure to wear goggles and chant the words, "For you lady average, we bring tribute" All the while making all the dice watch.

 

If that sorcery doesn't work nothing will.

 

I also recommend the superstition (though I do not practice such things) of allowing "the luckiest" person you know to touch your dice...or allow NO ONE to touch them ever.

 

Option 3 is to give the block to someone and start again.

 

Though...Gaming circles and nerd mantras change, dice superstitions are all relatively the same me thinks...

Wow, epic, reminds me of my captain I'm working on, just different pose. I rather like your aggressive attacking pose. Also, what torso did you use? It looks very ornate.

I actually just rolled one six times. I picked up my shooting dice, rolled them, and up popped 6 ones. That's insane.

 

In fact, what are the odds? I took stats in college, but that education has long since passed into the warp. Anyhow. Yeah. Dice gods are real.

In my game with Idaho I had an Inquisitor and all four Assassins. The dice responded with things like triple perils (consecutive), multiple consecutive failed charges (including CP re-rolls), and so on. Every other game I played with them over the weekend saw decent rolls throughout.

Like dont be hathen said its the Daenor / DC chaplain model. Swapped head, left hand and changed the crozium top for a hammer. So really simple :)

Taking stock. Going to try and cut down on my pile of shame.

 

Initial thoughts: Build Primaris captain, 3 units of Intercessors, 2 unites of interceptors, 1 unit of aggressors, Repulsor, redemptor, chaplain and lieutenant.

 

Then it was all the space hulk minis, + 2 units of assault TDA, plus 3 razorback/Rhinos and a drop pod.

 

Third was fancy characters, Company Banner Bearer, 2 lieutenants, possibly Emperor's champion as a BA repurpose.

 

And I'll probably fall somewhere in the middle.

Grats to those having good weekends and commiserations to those having not as good of times chasing victory, dice gods etc.

 

I got my new blood angels dice finally (pre-ordered back in December, but took two months to get here... yeah).

 

The new dice are amazing. I love them and they love me.

Too bad the game I used them in tho -- even they couldn't save me from my deployment and other mistakes.

 

Of note -

If you ever go to the trouble of bringing a vanguard IG veteran detachment for a support force... Remember they hit on 3+ not 4+ with the shoosting... 

If you are going to remember they hit on all those 3's it is also better to remember before the game is over and you are packing up...

 

Also Khorne Bezerkers are brutal good, and support buff characters fail charges to provide said support at the critcal moment.

But we already knew that... or did I ??
