Too bad Space Wolves and the Ecclesiarchy do not like each other very much. You would have a lot less frustrated sisters around trying to murder things biggrin.png

No way. Blood Angels get all the girls.

Still the best 40k fanart, hands down.

Where's the fun in that? Hmpf...

I don't wanna cross a line but the Mistriss Repentia screams Dominatrix..... Which even if most of that armor stays on, some people would let her do her thing, if you know what Im sayin'

Nothing except this:

Shield of Baal is the first release for the campaign. There will be more. It comes in two hardback books and in a slipcase.

book 1 comes with all the details on the invasion- background
includes the invasion of the Cryptus System, called the shieldworlds of Baal.
the astra militarum, blood angels and even the sisters of battle are mentioned here.

book 2 is rules including, Echoes of War scenarios (6), a cities of death expansion with 6 new missions, death from the skies rules for aerial combat.

Forces of Leviathan: a new detachment for Tyranids with warlord traits, datasheets for new units, and new formations

I love how AS are just mentioned there alongside the big burly men or AM and BA biggrin.png

Then there is this:

Shield of Baal: Leviathan is the opening installment of a new narrative campaign for Warhammer 40,000, depicting the Tyranid invasion of the Cryptus System, the Shieldworlds of Baal. The campaign follows the harrowing events as multiple worlds are struck by massive elements of Hive Fleet Leviathan. Against this onslaught the Imperium calls upon the regiments of the Astra Militarum, a Militarum Tempestus strike force and even a convent of the Adepta Sororitas, hurling them into battle against a foe that seeks to harvest worlds.
More after the break.
Leviathan consists of two hardback books in a slipcase. The first, weighing in at 152 pages, contains the tale of the opening phase of the invasion of the Cryptus system, an enthralling story with a fantastic cast of heroes and villains, along with orders of battle describing the major battles, maps of the critical war zones and background history of the area and is topography. The story within this book thunders along, with bloody battle, amazing locations and rising horror.
The second book, The Rules, contains a wealth of gaming material. There’s so much jammed into its 64 pages that it’s hard to imagine how they could have packed more in. Within it you’ll find:
  • Echoes of War. A series of six fantastic scenarios that depict the major events of the battles in the Cryptus system.
  • Cities of Death. A complete expansion for Warhammer 40,000 with six new missions and objectives to bring the carnage of urban combat to your games.
  • Death from the Skies. Rules for fighter aces in your games of Warhammer 40,000.
  • Forces of Leviathan. A new detachment for Tyranid players to represent Hive Fleet Leviathan, complete with Warlord Traits, data sheets for new units, Tyranid formations and more.
With a sweeping narrative and amazing new rules, Shield of Baal: Leviathan is a must for all Warhammer 40,000 fans.

And there is guys expressing their hopes for plastic nuns since apparently some older kits were removed from the game store.

Presumably the likely scenario is a mention some smaller campaign fluff but little else until the 40k equivalent of the End Times is released where all the orders are gathered for one final battle and killed off so that they never have to be given a second thought ever again.

They gotta make room for more space marines, you know!

No way, I want new Eldar Jetbikes, plastic Aspect Warriors and mounted Iron Priests first. Then we can talk more Macragge circle jerks.

Boy, someone needs to hit the Valium over here :D

I don't see any new sisters coming out of this, at best a character data slate and a splash release model for it but thats it.

I think even that is too much to hope for.

This is just going to be a rev up to space marines where the imperial defenders are subsequently overwhelmed and need the Blood Angels to turn up and give em a good kicking.

I wonder how anyone can 1) like and 2) take marines seriously now. They have been overhyped and overly glorified by GW to the point of sillyness. I would respect the fluff writers much more if marines would :cuss up royally once in a while or if a non-marine force could be the heroes for a change. But we would need to go to black library or fanfic for that :/

I have not found this to be the case, but I read broadly and shallowly. My current read is the Doom of Mymeara, and the Space Wolves are not the star of that particular show. They're doing their best, but they aren't the "real heroes." I think that the biggest problem with the Space Marines is not what GW writes - well, not entirely what GW writes - it's their fans. Just like the Imperium isn't as bad as the fans like to imagine it is, Space Marines aren't as perfect and single-minded (and two-dimensional) as their fans like to see them. For some reason. That totally evades me. Because I agree that flawed and struggling marines are more interesting than perfect and shiny marines.

But then, that's obvious. I play a Blood Angels successor biggrin.png.

Yeah, I wouldn't say all marines are perfection in armor, but most notably the Emperor's Plumbers are that way. I think the fluff writers for Blood Angels, and Dark Angels did a good job of making them have depth and a dark nature. Les-b-honest, the Dark Angels are bad dudes, who murder pretty much anyone who gets close to knowing about their traitorous past, and Blood Angels are red thirsting and all..

I do agree that we could use more variety in the good guys doing good things w/o help center stage.

That may be my sadistic side talking, but I'd rather have sisters of battle slaughtered at every turn than see them become mary sues with a plot armor dwarfing the supermassive black hole at the centre of our galaxy and a spotlight brighter than the big bang. Though the increase in plastic kits this would mean would be salve to my hear-

CENTURIONSCENTURIONSCENTURIONS

...nevermind the last part.

Either way, I don't trust GW with a happy medium.
