Not enough Leviathans...

 

I am planning to order a few of them...I fear my RG will have more Dreadnoughts than actual Astartes if my addiction continues

 

 

and something funny happened: I was trying to de-clutter my work area and stumbled across 20 mk6 legs I have been looking for! 

I was slowly stocking on bits since book 1 dropped waiting for my Legion(s). this being before BaC and me working on my fear of resin, I ordered mk6 legs, mk6 chest pieces when I could find them, went a little overboard on mk5 chest pieces, mk6 shoulder pads and mk4+6 heads from every ebay bits store I came across.

 

Finding these means that now I have to get off my lazy butt and build more Astartes. Im thinking straight Tactical Marines, and maybe squeezing out an assault squad. I certainly have the jump packs for them (as I ordered the mk4 JP from the sanguinary kit as well)

It's too late for a full battle report, but here is a tease or three:

 

-the game went a full 7 turns

-I lost 5 of my 6 independent characters. 

-Corax survived with just 2 wounds left

-i had 1 squad above half strength. 

-Rayray had more cultists on the table than I had models alive.

Yea, i kinda cackled when I posted...but between grading papers, the return of the Walking Dead and New York Rangers hockey, I just didnt have the time to properly post everything.

It was pretty intense.

 

I wont lie, I REALLY dislike playing against the Khorne Daemonkin army, and I was in a bad funk for a turn or 3. I still cannot wrap my head around how many buffs an army can get while it's being slaughtered. Between both armies killing the crap out of each other, i dont think there was more than 2 turns (1 and maybe 5/6) that Rayray didnt have a full or near full Blood Count.

I second that! Played a game the other night I was using KDK with a mate,

vs 2 others using Sisters of battle and Grey Knights.

It wasn't fun, there was nothing they could have done differently it was so 

easy. The game was over as a contest by turn 3!

I prefer games that rest on a knife's edge, if there's no threat, there's no fun!

And this is exactly why I'm going to relish 30k. KDK is brutal, but gets pretty idiotic once those counters start ticking so fast and WLK is trying to find ways to maim but not kill things...... Oprah came yet again....
