I've drifted around the forums for a while and thought I'd put my warband back into the fold as it were. 

I had a minor blog on here a year or so ago but figured it'd be a good idea to start fresh so without further ado I present The Disciples of Noise:

Quick update to this, I have finished the first proper marine for this army (base is unfinished as I'm still not sure what I want on them just yet)

A lot of the work you are doing seems to be conversions and/or old Noise Marine gear. Do you have some of the old Noise Marine parts on your models? Those shoulder-pads on the bull champion seem to be unusual.

I love me some noise! I also love dual-sword wielding marines and his flayed flesh tabard. Also curious about those shoulder pads myself.

A lot of the models are kitbashed with the new raptor set or are pieces from 3rd parties (Kromlech, Spellcrow, Maxmini etc.) There are a few conversions scattered around, mainly greenstuffed speakers on helmets, the top left marine and the bottom right marine in the first picture both have helmet conversions, and I plan to add a few more as I go along. 

The shoulder pads are from Spellcrow: http://www.spellcrow.com/space-knights-sonicsteam-shoulder-pads-p-267.html it is the middle pad on the display picture and I thought it would work with the, in my opinion rather ugly, horned helmet from the CSM set.

(Edit: The mouldline on leg has since been removed, and the speakers/vents on the backpack have received a wash so they aren't quite as bright as they are in the photos)

Just a quick update, I've been plugging away at painting so expect a bigger update soon but for the minute I've rebuilt the champion for the 2nd squad as I didn't think he stood up alongside the 1st squad champ (see above) let me know what you think...

I am alive!

Hi guys, so painting has been a little slow (read non-existent...) but I have made quite a lot of progress on some more models.
 

After listening to Master Of The Hunt & reading the Dornian Heresy entry on The White Scars, I was inspired to create a unit of White Scars that had become corrupted by Slaanesh/Doomrider. They all have Stormcrow pleasure legion torsos as the flayed skin jackets really fit the theme I had in my mind as well as topknots and hellstrider shields mounted on their bikes.

I also picked up a unit of Terminators and did some minor conversions to their facplates to give them more of a Slanneshi feel as well as adding additional pipes and speakers on the armour and flayed skin on some of the shoulder pads. These are very much W.I.P. so any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What is dead may never die.

It's been a hectic few months with work, moving and that ever present distraction - life. 

Regardless, I've returned to have another go at this whole modelling malarky. I am currently working on a unit of Cultists that I will, fingers crossed, have photos for this evening using Helstriders, Dark Eldar Wracks and some Imperial Guard bits and bobs.

@SanguiniusReborn - Thanks for the link man! Had to take a sec. to collect my jaw, I'm going to need some of those helmets in my life. I think it's time I made a FW order...

Anyway. As promised, some cultists for you all:

There are 4 guys with Whips, at the minute they are just modeled but eventually I might use them as squad leaders, or bodyguards, if thats still a thing? They use the helmeted heads from the helstriders kit and the rest is DE wrack. Some do have Helstrider feet, but they looked a bit goofy so I stopped after one or two (The one on the right has said booties.)

Next up are the other 6 wracks bodies, I'm just going to run these as a CC unit of cultists for now. I will be adding more of the syringes from the set to these guys ala Batman & Robin Bane. And yes, that one does have a syringe in his head. Also, the heads do look more in proportion on the actual models

Last little bit, had some spare helmets that were a little small for Marines, and a little too big for these Cadians, maybe they'll fit Militarum Temptus scions? I'll leave them at the minute as the look rather Deadmaus5 which I find amusing.

Big update today guys, the box of Scions arrived and fit the Deadmau5-esque helmets perfectly. The aquilas will be made to look as if they have recently been scratched off/ defieled also.

Also while thinking about what to do with all the other bits, I happened upon the idea of Rough riders. I know there armaments aren't technically legal and for all I know the unit doesn't even exist anymore. But they look pretty cool and should paint up great. The flamer does need a little work around the shoulder joints.

I tried to make it look as if the Aquila on the rifle had been scratched over, but it came out a little blocky so I may go back over that in the near future.
