Disciples of Noise/The Heralds Of Excess - Noise Marine WIP

Recommended Posts

@Andvarr A - Not too sure on that, he looks like the kind of guy that ate his own mother!

Just a quick update guys,

Managed to complete two more for the squad, and attempted a freehand slaanesh symbol on the Flamer, let me know what you think:

Our glorious leader

Think it might be a little flat, should I try add shading/highlights?

The whole team so far

It looks good, maybe a bit darker section it make it stand out a bit more on the skin...or it's the flash...

You could do kill markings on his other arm for the normals he's offed, or had slaneeshi things with

After a frustrating month of job hunting I am now back with an update!

@Andvarr A - Quite right on the highlighting of the tattoo - it is buried deep in my to do pile!

I've put together a bit of a bashed Warlord to lead my noise marines as they stand.

I will probably GS a slaaneshi symbol onto his belt and maybe a few other things that I am as yet undecided on.

C & C always welcome,

Heralds

Ah! By the Eye, could it be? A C-3? A Chaos Corvus Champion? Exquisite! There simply aren't enough chaos beakies for my tastes, especially when they look this sinfully good! Lovely use of the Lord Executioner mini Heralds, I especially like that shield, where's it from?

By the way, I have a suggestion I'd like to put forward. Perhaps for additional Slaaneshi credentials you could replace the axe head with that of an Eldar Wraithblade, assuming it's of the appropriate size and looks right to you of course.

Regardless, a sublime conversion my friend, I can't wait to see him painted! :)

Cheers for the encouragement guys! Now to find some super glue...

@SanguiniusReborn Thanks for the kind words. I am a fan of the corvus helms myself although most of the ones I own are attached to my Dornian heresy White Scars. I looked into changing the axe head with one from the wood elf rangers? Set but couldn't find any spares or justify the price for the box alas!

You mean this axe?: http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/product_info.php/wood-elves-wildwood-rangers-axe-p-4086

Believe me, bitz sites are incredibly helpful for kit-bashers like us.

The chib looks very slaneesh...almost like a demon weapon

The Chib? What's that? Do you mean that hook-like bit on the back of the head?

That bit is ordered and should hopefully be here soon!

In other news, I have recently completed the champion of my 2nd Noise Marine squad. Let me present: The Raven. [Edit - Doh! forgot to highlight the backpack, will sort that asap.]

(Apologies for the lack of white background/correct lighting. My lightbox is currently MIA after a recent sort)

The Front - As I mentioned earlier in this thread, this guy is supposed to be more violent/deranged than his counterpart The Bull. Hence the charging pose and over abundance of flayed skin.

Shot of his sword and more flesh

Above. The head felt somewhat plain, so I used the structure of the helm to create a Slaaneshi symbol which I highlighted up from Cream to White.

C&C appreciated as always!

Chib? It's a lovely little Scottish word for something you can hit someone with I.e. "spill my pint and I'll chib ye!"

Can confirm, girlfriend is Scottish.

In hobby related news, the axe was purchased, fiddled with and attached to the model - it looks pretty good. I'll post pictures once I've finished up my first squad of Noise Marines.

Updates - hopefully soon!

Hi guys, bit of an update!

Not much done on the Noise Marine front, except finishing this guy:

Did get these guys underway though! Not 100% just yet as they need a bit of clean up and some highlights, but I'm happy so far:

Unfortunately this guy  had a rather thickly painted cab by the time I got him which has warped the paint job somewhat but he will do for now.

Also got this guy from Kromlech that I'll run as a Herald of Slaanesh, he's quite a bit taller than the daemonettes (I mean, the helmet doesn't help, but - rule of cool and all...):

Cheers for looking,

Heralds
