Black_out's WIP Log....custodes incoming!

Well finished up the chassis of the knight besides some basic touch up and of course additional colors to break up the bare steel look. I wanted to go for a very well maintained and cared for machine so I gave it a brighter dry brush of Runefang Steel to top everything off, to signify how shiny it is.

The armor panels are still just primed white for now. Still waiting on my order of masking tape to arrive to section off the panels.

Got a little more done yesterday and finished up one of the two terminators I pledged in the casual 30k thread. This guy just needs some lightning and I'll call him done probably.

Cool!

I'm liking the Knight so far - but that's practically a given, because Knights are COOL! (Speaking about Fallout 4, have you played the new Freeblade game yert?)

Thanks! And no, unfortunately I'm an Android user and we don't have access

Terminator #2 finished! Not happy with the plasma at all. I didn't have a couple colors I wanted and managed to botch it up by attempting to mix them myself.

Hey buddy! I think the termie looks fine! Perhaps you aimed for a brighter plasma  - but a dull energy emission from the plasma accelerator chamber isn't necessarily a bad thing - and might actually be more realistic. If you're aiming for brighter and/or darker shades of green from a single pot of green paint, use brighter yellows to mix the green you have for brighter greens. If you're looking for darker green, it's best to use reds (especially GW Khorne Red. If you use white and black, respectively, the colours usually come out looking dull. Red/Yellow shades are on the other side of the colour wheel of green, and so work better!)

Also, the pic is out of focus (unless you wanted to show us the KNight's exhaust). Here's a pretty great tutorial for phone camera miniature photography by Kierdale. Try it out, it´s done wonders for my photography :) :tu:

Well, I managed to finish up the last 3 terminators I pledged for the casual 30k challenge this month. So that's 5 completed VIIIth Legion Terminators for me! Now I can focus on my knight :D

My small FW order shower up today! 2 orders of volkite chargers, a contemptor dread ccw and a set of terror squad helmet set. Plus the freaking gorgeous NL transfer sheet, it's so nice I can't wait to use it!

Built 4 more marines for the terror squad! None really as inspired as the Headsman but I guess that's to be expected though I've managed to dress them all up to some degree. Withouty books hamdy however I do have a question. Does buying a volkitecharger replace their bolt pistol & ccw or is it in addition to? This is mostly for modeling purposes.

Thanks for looking!

  • 2 weeks later...

So I put a lot of work in over this weekend on the Knight I had started a bit ago trying to make some headway. Using the scheme supplied to me from Augustus b'Raass I went about painting it as a Knight sworn to Titan Legio Ulricon.

Thus far all the colors are pretty much basecoats (my god is retributor gold amazing), and only the chassis itself has received any washes or highlights. I'm hoping to get most of it finished during this week. Any and all inout is more than welcome. Thanks for looking!

Cool! I love your rendition of Legio Ulricon! :)

I swear I tried as best I could to get some chevrons done on his carapace but the tape I got refused to adhere to the surface and I eventually gave up ugh

Pray tell what masking tape did you get? I use tamiya 6mm tapes myself, and never found non-sticking issues regardless if its matte or gloss I'm sticking to.

Also, rad Knight Black_out. Regardless of being chevron-less, he's shaping up to be something cool!
