These ar the pack markings that we know of.

 

I am considering using the breacher marking and variants thereof, or a varian of te legion tactical symbol, but use a dark yeloow, almost ochre colour instead of red. Grey Salyers efectively are using 40K Wolf Guard markings, so I wonder if they are just PAWG in 30K and that is how we should treat them?

 

My tacicals and tactical vets will use the tactical symbol red on grey. I am not sure if te transfer sheet is a good idea, as for examplle fully half t tact symbols most apothecary symbols etc are red, which will not work on a red background :(

 

FW really do not think things through sometimes.

With regards the transfer sheet, what i've found annoying is that are only 15 of each of the squad icons when i needed 20 to complete a unit. For now i've left them off and just gone for Legion icons and painted pack markings.

 

The posing on your assault squad looks ace, they are ready to rumble.

Yes 15 red and 15 gold, you could in theory put the gold on to 4 of the specialists like vexilla, comms etc and use something different for the sergeant, like the voidwolf or triskele symbol?

 

I might just do a basic rune design for them

Dude your productivity is inspiring!

 

I'll try to post tonight the new sculpt I made for Bjorn based on our chat as well as Torstein, Erig and Siegfried.

 

I had Kalf but I'll redo him, I can't seem to find the adequate head to work from, and I think I'll add Erlendur to the Raiders of Hedeby and make them be shooty only since he's so keen with a crossbow.

 

And you were so right, Rollo will go to the Kingslayer unit with Borg, Horik and Haraldson.

 

On making my Hvarl Bjorn, think I should keep the sculpt and make the pelt be the bear he killed and became a man or should I design a new torso?

Hahaha, I am only productive because I am trapped on an oil-rig. If at home productivity is slow at best.

 

Do the bear pelt. I really like the terminator suit you made. 

 

Have you fionished season 3 of Vikings yet> Have you started season 4 at all??

Oh BTW Inferno specifically mentions Space Wolves landing "Space Wolves Pale Hunter war packs" in it's exemplary battles section :)

I have a 10 strong Assault squad on the way too but they aren't looking as good as yours thematically as they are relatively unadorned and include MKVI marines. I guess I'll explain it away as them being proto-blood claws, head strong initiates still waiting to earn their first trophies and trinkets.

My Vets however are being built with a lot of similar pieces to what you and betrayer are producing. Ornamentation increasing from Tactical / Assaults > Grey Slayers > Vets / Deathsworn.

 

I watch series 1 - 3 over and over whilst building and painting, always gets me in the right state of mind. Working up to try some facial / scalp tattoos too. Waiting for second half of Season 4 like a frothing beserker.

Oh mate yes, I'm finishing season 4 now. F*cking Rollo.

 

I'm still torn between Floki Priest or Rune Caster! Who else other than him and or Athelstan would fit in these roles?

EDIT: Also torn on who to lead the pack of Kattegat. Torstein? Arne?

Here is a really wacky idea.... A Terran as a speaker of te dead or rune caster, uses fire and herbs to see paths into the future, mist-trusted by te Fenrisian elements of te legion and an outsider.

 

Either that or same but female and she could be the navigator?? Then your Seer model could become the Rune caster...

Now I am no sure if te models will look lopsided with all the yellow/ of white down one side and red on the other, do you think I should switch the kneepad colours around?

Do not mind te shiny fist, going to dull the varnish down to get a better leather look.

 

Also:

 

I now have a command colour structure

 

Yellow for assault

Red for tacticals

Black for breachers

White for veterans

Black/yellow for grey slayers

None/ pure black pad for destroyers

Grey with Deathsworn symbol for Deathsworn.

 

Thoughts?

I am not sure about Deathsworn colouration.

 

It is likely that I would stick with grey, maybe with bits f lighter grey here and there, representing them using ash to mark death runes etc on their armour.. We will see what FW come up with shall we :)

 

I have ordered up some wulfen grenade launchers for the deathsworn to act as rad grenade launchers :D

 

I am starting to get my mojo back for infantry after spending so long working on armour.

 

I have 4-5 ideas in mind and not sure which to go for...

 

Massed infantry... Lots of assault, destroyers and deathsworn swarming across the table,  fast and stabby

Elite Kingsguard army based around Russ.

Fast army, usng jetbikes outriders and javelins

Air cavalry, infantry using Eagles pods and Caestus assault rams

Mech cavalry, using Spartans, Raiers and rhinos (plus the Mastodon in really big games)

.

A more immediate issue is to find a simple knotwork design to go with the pack mark...

Almost finished with these, till I get home to my micron pens and do some doodling for tattoos and runic armour marks.

 

Tried Jet pack flame effect for the first time, Still need to add a few dots of white here and there.

 

And did a little armour chipping, which needs finished on some. Didn;t go overboard as I wan to do some rune patterns and then weather as it would look odd if the runes/knots were brand new on banged up armour.
