Thanks grieux, maens a lot from someone as talented as yourself... It is just some Iron Warrior, Imperial Fist helms slightly changed and some stock Alpha Legion helms.

Oh, I saw this and thought about you discussions on Mastodons in the tactica section.... I think it is time to unleash the long boats :D

The marines are from "troll trader" on ebay was £14 for a squad of 10 or 40 for 3 squads.

The rest of the bits came from bitzbox, bitsandkits and megabitzshop (Germany).

Micron pens on ebay from omghowcheap, and the transfers are from "sell-or-trade". He is a decent guy and if you message him with what you want he is responsive and can combine postage.

So got some plasitc dread bits in a hope to revitalise my old metal Bjorn, got some filing to do for the second panel.

Yes on Bjorn! OMG totally forgot I also have the metal model I bought when I was 12 (like... 20+ years ago sigh). Might need to steal the idea!

And there's not enough definition in the pic for the assault marine to judge I'm afraid :/

As a trick, when photographing with my IPhone, rather than going up close I go as far away as I can, then zoom in and take the pic, I've found that helps heap with getting a more crisp shot because of... some kind of maleficarum science I really don't understand.

Hi Grieux,

I am struggling to get a decent picture of the rams-horn symbol on the pad, finally got a half decent shot and forgot to wipe dust off of the model

The more I look at it, I feel like it is wrong and is over complicating the design. A simple rune in the grey might look far better.

You don't learn if you do not try.

I have also done some more scraping on the models instead of chipping.. Along the leading edges of the hands elbows knees and lower legs, where the paint would have bee scraped down to bare ceramite.

Dust was caused by this fella...

As a quick update, begun glossing the left pads for the legion symbols.

Been buying up a lot of the RT transfer kits.

A lot o red and some of the white.

Why white?

Well looking at this image:

The white wolf symbol, is used by reconissance units, so I am going to use the white wolf symbols for units such as recon marines, seekers and outrider/ jetbike & speeder units.

I have a feeling the white is going to be too bright, so once the tidying up etc is done, then a blast of nuln oil or agrax might be needed to tone it down.

Pure white? The transfers are pure white, but it is quite cool, that some of the armour colour shows through

Lol ... Well I'm starting from scratch so I think a little catching up is needed. Some stuff is just going to get repainted, other stuff is getting chop shopped and then painted.

The fit issues are probably a bit of my own devising.

Had to replace the bottom section when the holder bits snapped off, also had to take a fair chunk off of the floor at the back a the rear door would not have worked.

You can see where I had to drill through to get the brass rod in at the bottom right I can get the command section to fit better but it requires a fir bit of wiggling to do.

Looking a bit lop-sided. Removed the front internal section because it will not fit in properly.
