Okay guys a serious question!

 

It relates to ETL.

 

Templar Brethren, Combat shields or not? I am waiting on washes to dry on my Land Raider vow for ETL and I started putting my TB together and I want to know if adding the shields is worth it? 

 

If you had to play me and they were modeled with the shields and I choose not to take the shields as an option in a game that you were my opponent then would you be okay with me taking the minis that had the shields attached? 

For a CC Unit, a CC-only Invuln is better than nothing, imo.

 

For the second part: totally would let you since I have the same problem too anyways :P

Personally, I wouldn't be too fussed, so long as things are made abundantly clear and is agreed on before the game starts. So long as you're playing with a mature individual, they shouldn't have a problem either. The exception to this might be tournament goers - the mindset for WYSIWYG is quite prevalent.

With the release of BoC I have decided to start that World Eaters army that I always wanted. I have my main legion the Iron VIIth but now i will be splitting my time between both forces!

So the chapter/battalion I am building is based of off the idea that they were separated from the legion shortly after they started experiments with the butchers nails on Astartes. This lead the my force to get the nails but they produce effects that are divergent from the legion as a whole due to development away from the legion. They have the effect of been more stable (can be activated and deactivated by command) and more extreme in the anger/rage/hate/pain and performance.The commander (yet to get a name) was totally devoted to the Primark and willingly lead his brothers into heresy at the outbreak of the civil war.

So i have a slight deadline to get 1000pts painted. my buddy will be stopping buy for a few days around new years and he wants to have a game so only having fists painted i need to bust out some paint and glue and get to work:

I have had to use some regular 40k parts but i am happy with how the build turned out. the Sgt has a Thunder Hammer and a Choom stick. There is also 2 other choom sticks in the squad as well as a heavy chainsword, a pair of lightning claws and everyone else has power weapons (x2 mauls/x1 Axe the rest swords)

I have never built a squad like this before but this will be a hardcore CC army once i am done!

Got to love the FW heavy Chainawords, i was going to have 2 in the squad but decided on TLLC instead.

Update:

Got some basing done today and added some of my WE to them, i went for the same theme as my IF for 2 reasons 1) To tie the two forces together somewhat. 2) i am actually scared to try a new method maybe on my Mechanicum force, i saw an awesome Martian themed tutorial over in the forge that i may have to steal!

It has been a long time since I dusted off this thread, I have been building but mainly playing and I wanted to share with you some pictures of the last game I played in. We played the Dropsite massacre with about 27,000 points on the table.

The Loyalist side:

Well to be honest I wont be able to play the entire campaign as I will be moving away from my current heresy group, My fists will only play on the traitor side until they are "wiped out", then the loyal Fists lead my Polux will arrive in sector it is at that time the Alpha Legion will show there hand and switch sides also.

 

Though Slips will be disappointed in me though......

Yes it was the most crazy game I have ever played, our first turn of shooting was weak at best, this gave the loyalists a good chance to claw back some of the points disadvantage imposed by the mission. My Glaive caused a reaping every turn killing swaths of infantry and stripping hull points.
