Upon seeing that FW had “found” more copies of Conquest in the back of their warehouse I decided to make the move at start a Sol Aux Army. I present the start of that Army today. I have started small with a small force that will be allied in with my Iron Hands and will progressively become a larger force that will be able to operate completely independent from the Legion.  The army will be in WWII theme using colors, markings, and camouflage that was appropriate for Allied forced during that era.

Today I am proud to present

504th Solar Auxilia Cohort  “The Devils of Formenos.”

"Strike Hold!!!"

“Strike hard and fast. Hold, and never give up the ground you take.”

Probably going to be using the  Vallejo WWII German/Allied 16 Color Paint Set for Infantry I'm thinking Khaki Brown on cloth and Olive Drab on the armor with a blue shoulder pad to represent the unit they belong to and black boots. For tanks I'm thinking US Dark Green that was popular on US tanks in WWII.

I was a Falcon myself, but I always am happy to see a fellow paratrooper on the board. Are we going to break them down into their respective colors?

I'll be using Blue on the Left shoulder pad, then having Blue and Gold on Vexilla.

EDIT: Actually I may end up doing something else with the blue sort of how we have our Unit patch and our Combat patch. "New guys" who are still green will only have one shoulder Blue and the "vets" who have had several deployments will have two blue shoulders.

I look forward to seeing yours painted.  The I'm considering doing my Tempest Scions as the 325th, but I never got around to it.  I'll be following this topic closely.

Oh man that would be great, and they play like Paratroopers with their Airborne assault formation, just have a bunch of LGOPs rolling around the board terrorizing your opponent. , also blue and silver would look great on Scions.

*cough* you need a stormhammer *cough*

Look forward to seeing this progress!

You going for a more "German" military look? The muted greys and greens would look cool

They will get a Stormhammer if they prove themselves, until then they will use the Malcador and like it or get nothing all. And ill be going more for a US uniform look so greens and browns.

Fresh and clean Malcador ready for green stuff touch ups and assembly.

EDIT: Also you see the paint set Ill be using for this project. Colors consist of White (71001), Tank Green (71011), Dark Green (71012), Olive Gray (71015), US Dark Green (71016), Russian Green (71017), Khaki Brown (71024), Dark Yellow (71025), Sand Yellow (71028), Hull Red (71039), Burnt Umber (71040), Tank Brown (71041), Olive Drab (71043), Black (71057), Tank Dark Yellow (71081) and Panzer Olive Green (71096).

Dude both the Drac and Malc are the easiest things I have ever put together, the Drac is only like 4 large parts and then a few little bits here and there. and the most complicated part of the malcador was the tracks, but the Drac has all its tracks save for two missing in the back where the mold was cast.

Excellent work!

I know that the setting is made up but i am willing to buy post human walking tanks in bright yellow/red/white clad armor but I just cannot picture humans wearing anything flashy like that. They would be camouflaged to there environment, this presents a problem for the painter because if done correctly you would lose a ton of detail and nobody wants that.

These maintain there tactical look but you have done a solid job bringing out all of the wonderful detail on the minis!

@AlphariusOmegon108 Thank you.

@Phalanx Warder I really appreciate that, thank you. That has been by biggest concern with these guys is losing detail, they are such amazing sculpts with such fine detail that doing too much camouflage would have hid all that so I had to find a happy medium, and I think I have done that.
