15th Black Crusade(AKA ETL)

Uprising

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I would really love to participate in this, but browsing the rules has put a pretty big dent in my plans: Am I right in assuming that there's no feasible way of pledging my Chaos Knight (Imperial Knight converted to a Chaos Knight, to be precise) as part of this event when declaring for chaos?

You'd be wrong! laugh.png

Imperial Knights are compatible with every faction in the ETL!!! So paint away! (it was in the rules btw - check out the Forums and Factions section)

Oh mate, that's awesome! Thanks for clearing that up! I thought that Knights might be disallowed due to the "No allies" rule, but I am really glad I was wrong! So this may just be the perfect occasion to finally get that Chaos Knight painted, after all!

As for Skitarii, even if they are not allowed as Skitarri, nobody would be stopping you from just pledging them as cultists, right? I mean that's probably easy enough to justify as a counts as solution?!

Yeah, maybe even nurgle cultists to represent their added toughness.

Skitarii will only be available to the Mechanicum Forum.

The frater that followed the rich background of the Mechanicum all those years and only had Titans to sate their thirst deserve a Codex to call their own as well as the lovely new minis that come along with it. And if the ETL is the reason to see more activity and newcomers to this particular part of B&C so much the better! It is well deserved and long overdue!

Now if you guys want to play the age-old game of "count-as", it's fine by me! :P

I have a question, looking through my moels, I see a csm with bolter and ccw, I plan on running him as a model with ultragrit, but can I get the 2 points for that or not?

Basically, if you pay for the upgrade and it's modelled - yes.

If he had a Bolt Pistol and CCW, you couldn't add the two points.

He has a bolter and ccw, but no bp.

Probably has it stashed - I'm sure you'll be fine. Generally, the rule of thumb as it's modelled or can be justified, it's okay. Now if you claimed that Bolter was a Meltagun or whatever, that's when the problems begin to arise.

I'm working on converting a Land Raider into a Relic Sicaran tank. Would this be acceptable?

I'll be watching this with interest. Please take the time to record each step of the process.

Here's the BC thread I started over in WIPs

The enthusiasm on this thread is contagious. I never thought chaos could be this enthusiastic about something. I hope you all keep the enthusiasm when the heresy beats you however!;).

No but seriously I think that it will be a hard fought battle for first place. Chaos has some new things this year from IA 13, siege of vraks, and khorne daemonkin.

You Templars may have your zeal and black spray ( ;) ), but we have free reign to create the wonderful, strange, aggressive, and outright creepy. We also make great miniatures :D

I second what Forté said ^^

As much as we of chaos gripe and groan, we are still here because our models are the baddest, the biggest, the best, the most beautiful(ly horrifying) of all possible 40k miniatures. Considering this competition is all about that aspect of the hobby, rather than the rules, I wouldn't be that surprised about our ZEAL.

Well.. I plan to pledge my Daemonkin World Eaters force. So far I'm building:

1 Chaos Lord

24 Berzerkers

5 Terminators

10 Raptors

5 Warp Talons

48 Cultists

5 Possessed*

6 Blood Crushers*

1 Daemon Prince*

1 Blood Thirster*

To this I still need to add the Bloodletters etc.

* I still need to buy these miniatures next month

I still need to actually recieve my Codex (tomorrow or Friday hopefully) to see what I've got, and how much that'll be.

@Luther: That's a lot of Cultists. What's the plan, do batches of five between everything else? It just strikes me as a fantastic way to lose momentum otherwise. Trust me, I did 60 for the Call and nearly didn't manage it.

I did mine in batches of ten and it was one of my most difficult challenges. The models are so amazingly detailed to do them justice is hard. And, I wanted the rag-tag look - my advice would be to go for more uniform colours, as you then expend far less energy switching between pots, brushes and colours!

That said, I was delighted with how they came out - I earned those points

Somewhat uniform colours, and small batches between other units (using these other units as "rewards" for each completed batch of Cultists). but I have no doubt that the Cultists will be the hardest part of the army to get through.

I won't tret them any worse that then rest of the army ;) .. Until they hit the tables that is. By then they're cannon fodder with the potential to do some damage.

Push them out front the way they should be. And enjoy the sultry tones of their delightful death throdes.

I am almost done with 16 genestealers for a friend, then I will be able to finish the black legion models I have. They are all partially done, is that acceptable? (not sure if I asked this >.>)

Depends on the level of completion, but generally speaking only as an ooc entry.
