SW Mini Bases Painting

Hi all, I recently bought up several packs of 25mm Secret Weapon Miniatures bases (creeping infection http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=79_30_93, and corpse fields http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=79_30_86), and was wondering if anyone has had experience with painting them, and/or has any advice for paint schemes etc?

 

I was planning on using 7 of the 10 creeping infection bases to base my plague marines (have the magic number of plague marines for that unit, hence 7), and then the full pack of 10 of the corpse fields for a unit of plaguebearers and fill the base cavity with green tinted water effect gel (or red if i wanted it gruesome and bloodey, but those models already have the gruesome factor with their intestines hanging out and whatnot lol).

 

I was originally going to have the corpse fields bases for the plague marines, but their (and chaos marines in general) stance is too wide and doesn't fit in the cavity, and looks clumsy balanced on the body parts or hanging over the lip of the base cavity, whereas the plaguebearers i believe fit better.

 

I don't think anyone has already asked about this, I did do a quick search.

 

Also, while I'm asking about painting guides and help related to nurgleish style painting, is there a guide floating about for painting plague marines and/or plaguebearers? I've been wanting to find a guide to try get both looking similar to the GW pictures off of the site, though I'm also planning on using an airbrush tho not that it matters if its just what paints to use and whatnot.
