Ultramarines Legion Transfer Sheet:

gallery_79873_10492_65772.jpg

Ultramarines Invictarii:

Invictarii armour is finely detailed, artificer-wrought power armour bestowed upon warriors of the Ultramarines Legion in honour of the deeds they have accomplished in service to the Imperium. It is often worn by those who have served in the elite echelon of warriors known as the Invictarus Suzerains before being assigned command.

This upgrade set comprises ten resin Ultramarines Invictarii torsos and ten resin Ultramarines Invictarii heads, including a Sergeant’s helm and one unhelmeted head, featuring Ultramarines Legion iconography.

This is a multi-part resin upgrade kit. It is available to pre-order today for despatch from Monday 18th May

Ultramarines Praetorian Armour:

Across the thousands of Forge Worlds producing battle plate for the Legiones Astartes, variations from the standard template have been introduced in deference to local customs, views on artifice and the requirements of the Legion being supplied.

Praetorian armour is a variant of Mk IV ‘Maximus’ pattern battle plate, produced in the factories of Ultramar for the most recently raised chapters of the Ultramarines.

This upgrade set comprises ten resin Mk IV Praetorian Armour torsos and ten resin Mk IV Praetorian Armour heads, including a Sergeant’s helm and one unhelmeted head, featuring Ultramarines Legion iconography.

i love the invictarii helmets <3

Honestly, not a huge fan.

But then I haven't been overly impressed with any of the conversion kits to be frank. Slapping a blinged helmet and torso on something just isn't all that exciting for me, especially at the price on offer. The whole units end up looking much better, more cohesive a look, and fits the more "gritty" mental image I have for the 31st millenium, only officers and the real "pride of the legion" have fancy, blingy armour, and even then only in certain legions (EC, Ultras, SoH, etc).

The fluff blurb indicates these might be for actual Legion-specific units, but were I to do the XIII, I'd only use them for a Command Squad or maybe a Veteran squad.

Granted, if these small additions didn't cost as much as a whole other 5 marines, or were sold more like the Iron Hands tactical sections as a whole variant unit which was totally cool and not massively more expensive than the base unit.

Well, I'm definitely getting the transfer sheet as soon as I can.

Not sure on the armour sets. I like them, particularly the Praetor helmets, but I'll be using Mk II and III in my force, and they new sets are Mk IV based. Still, I'll probably get one of each when my budget can take it.

I noticed something on the transfer sheet, and a picture out of the HH Weekender. It seems that the XIII uses two triangles pointing outwards for Tactical markings, rather than the arrow we know from 40k (and which several other legions have on their sheets).

If I get the Invictarii kit, I'd paint the Sergeant face plate red rather than white happy.png

But but the Legion made out that red was bad! Before Calth and how badass Guilliman noticed Thiel had been of course.

Yes, but my XIII will be from around the Scouring, so red is in happy.png

Man they sure is purdy lookin...

I'll be picking some up, but like Stofficus said, I'd rather they did a full set of 5 like the Iron Hands kit rather than me having to buy this then 2 sets of Maximus armour

I think I'll mix them into normal squads rather than just have 1 bling squad

Ah yeah forgot that :D

Ultramarines just got transfer sheet. Great. They don't even have rules now (I know HH5 is near but still). What of: Night Lords, Iron Warriors, Salamanders and (most important) Alpha Legion?furious.gif And proper HH era transfers for Raven Guard, Imperaial Fists nd Iron Hands. Seriously, I don't get it.

A good point; especially as in the painted photos of the IF command, it looks an awful lot like the banner is a transfer. Also in the latest blog there was a SoH command which also had a rather suspiciously fancy banner.

I suspect they'll release them in bulk at some point, as they did get someone new to work specifically on transfers, did they not?

One or two of those torsos remind me if the IH ones. I don't mind the praetorian helms as they fit the look well, and the invictarii helms have potential if you can get past the face huggers.

I reckon they put the set together to avoid people just buying the helms with plumes for their vets. But the lack of ten helmets from the by-the-book-marines is odd.

Yeah I get what you mean with being remeniscent of the the IH torsoes - I think it's a mixture of the layered design, recessed bolts & central divide on the Praetorian torsos - shave off the Ultramarine symbols, & you've got some perfect IH Mk IV
