KURAMA-ftw!!! Achilles is looking awesome man!!

I have had ALOT of bourbon this eve so will not be painting or thinking about the Phalanx warders and mkiv kit that showed up today:)

Erased a bunch of stuff that doesn't have s@€t to do with war gaming in the moment.

Thanks for being a part of my circle and my community friends.

Dude no problemo just chillax and enjoy your bourbon I've got a game tomorrow so I'll snap some better pics

Greetings my Frater!

I'm so glad to see both the quality and quantity of work that the Casual thread is putting out, partly because it's in support of the Heresy forum's backside-kicking ETL contributions, but mostly because I think that these threads, and the community that gets built by them, are really amazing.

Dim - I really like your take on Polux. Simple and to the point, like an Imperial Fist should be, and the paintjob is brilliant. Good stuff!

Raktra - You're a machine, dude. Which I suppose is appropriate. You'll have finished your vow before I even start mine at this rate.

Kurama - I really like that Chaplain conversion... Is that Abaddon's legs and torso?

It feels like it's been ages since I've posted anything at all... Because it has!

My last post before today was nearly three weeks ago, which in ETL terms must be aeons... But the initial bit of the move is now basically done, and I've got some breathing room before we shift into our new place, so...

I, StruManChu, the Wanderer in the North, do solemnly vow to complete 5 Death Guard Tactical Veterans of the most traitorous kind on or before the last second of June, lest the Plague Father strike me down with his most vile and terrible afflictions.

To borrow from my afore-mentioned last post in the ETL thread...

Breakdown is as follows -

5 x Vets w/

  • Sarge w/ Power Fist, Combi Weapon, Artificer Armour and Volkite Serpenta
  • Chem-munitions
  • Vexilla
  • Nuncio-Vox
  • 2 x Power Weapons
  • Heavy Flamer
And here's a basecoat shot!

Obviously, these guys have not progressed in the time since I posted them, what with the move and all...

Soon to be five nice Justaerin!

Excellent progress guys. We're a little short on vows this month, but the work people have done already is great. I've actually got most of my base colours down on my contemptor - I might even post a picture sometime soon...

Nice to see you back Stru!

Kor'Vesh

Greetings!

After long week in absence I shall return to the fields of battle! Last month I received some reinforcements, and now it is the time, to take up the brush sword again. I hope that everything will go fine, and there will be enough free time, to finish my following vow:

I, Leoric, lost son of the Gorgon, wanderer of the Wastes on Istvaan, pledge to paint 10 Tactical Marines of the Tenth Legion.

Not a big one, but more will come, if they are finished...

Wanted to post a before picture and pledge these two before I got to far on these guys.

Pre-weathering complete added the undercoat and added a layer of AK Interactive Heavy Chipping Solution so well see how this works. I'm going to be stepping away  from the sponge technique this time.

Also sorry for not having added the drac to the ETL but I've got to get these guys on the table! I know that AoD doesn't need the 135 points but it may have helped. Sorry AoD if we lose this ETL  as the famous poet Akon once said "You can but the blame on on me." :D

June – Week one

Well, we are performing well in the ETL, and May was a record breaking month in every way possible – so thank you all for your commitment guys. There is still a long way to go though, and I think we are in a slight lull right now. Having said that we already have some impressive progress for week 1.

Before we look at the teams in detail, let’s welcome our new player Blitzjager. Also a big welcome back to the former holder of the biggest score in one month Brother Vidius. Very glad to have you back sir.

Current Pledged Scores:

Traitors 72 – 238.5 Loyalists

The loyalist dominance, though we are certainly down on activity from the past few months. Still I think we have a core team of dedicated players for June, and I’m expecting a seriously high completion rate already!

Current scores

Lots of progress on all of these pledges already, but only a single completed pledge from Kurama (which you can see in the ETL thread):

Pledges – Traitors 1 – 0 Loyalists

Score – Traitors 15 – 16 Loyalists

Percentage of pledged score – Traitors 20.83% - 6.71% Loyalists

Nice and tight this week! Traitor progress is entirely driven by Kurama, how seems to have forgone sleep this week to get a good chunk of his Sons of Horus painted for a battle. Excellent progress from Kurama though, with a really nice Terminator Chaplain, and an awesome, near indestructible, Land Raider Achilles. The loyalists have had the Iron Hands charging head strong into the fight as usual. Raktra has completed his first contemptor, after spending nap time with it, and Mind of Metal nailed his sicaran and objective markers. MoM is truly relentless. We’ve seen lots of progress from other fraters, but completions are pending.

Warrior’s Champions for May

After a slightly lack-lustre vote, we do have two clear winners of May’s warrior’s champion awards.

For the loyalists – Nevindar, with his excellent unique rhino conversions.

For the traitors – Daemonclaw, with some stung Ghal Vorbak, a brutal Angron and excellent Lorgar conversion.

Congratulations guys – please do post your vows in the hall of victors, even though we lost our pin! Hopefully there is a lot more progress to come. Good luck guys!

Kor’Vesh

I forgot, Pyroclasts are in the next Vow, sorry. I'll swap those with a Legion Spartan Assault Tank, Legion Sicarian Battle Tank /w Lascannon Sponsons, and a Legion Sicarian Venator Tank Destroyer.

Should have pics up by friday of the Firedrakes.

Got myself a new Toy, picked up a Badger Krome, it's my first Airbrush, so I've been taking it slow and really getting used to it. Between it and the Minitaire paints I picked up for it, I should be in good shape to put up some neat effects eventually.  We'll see.

May be the Fellblade but the misses has been sick the past 4 days so I'm taking care of her and im starting to get sick, so I may not make it to vow 4.

Just need to do some more freehand and the Contemptor is done anyway.
