They aren't officially released yet but I managed to pick them up early at Salute in April. I am using them as Scyllax guardian automata as I like the models and want an excuse to use them. My Executioner will also be named Magma Stream, in honour of Slips, so Nev'Dar isn't beyond the realms of possibility. Your name might be better for my Mechanicum Magos though!How do we get our names picked for your models? Personally I think 'the Fire Golem' works very well as a title for the Salamanders, maybe a Dread... ... No I know it's a crap name. Genuinely picked it when I was about 13, it was gonna be my DIY chapter name haha. Love your Dread btw. That model is stunning and as I've said before I love your brighter green. Rage of Khorne Posted June 25, 2015 Share Posted June 25, 2015 I basically followed the FW painting guide scheme with a couple small tweaks. Primed white on the body, left the shoulder pads and backpack off and primed them black. Airbrushed the blue onto the black primed stuff. And just washed in the cracks of the white primer to get the shadow with Nightshade, Agrax and water mixed 1/1/1. Then highlighted with ceremite white. The blue was Kantor Blue highlight with Kantor and ceremite 1/1. Not very difficult scheme. Ill be adding an awful lot more infantry to the army so I'm glad its quick to paint. Narrowed it down to two design types, if anyone care to give some thoughts.1: A side armour sponson akin to a smaller version of the ones on ForgeWorlds MKIIB Land Raider (which is the pattern I'm going for with this army starting after the ETL)2: A sponson akin to the ones found on the Sicaran Battle Tank.Any thoughts?//Nevindar Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think the mkIIB sponsons are more heavily armoured, and will fit nicely with your Pallas rhinos, which look a bit up armoured themselves! Rage - I can't believe the speed and quality of that paint job. Great work. I'm slightly envious! Slips - I never even contemplated you forgetting you vow. That just wouldn't happen. Jimbo - thanks for posting the rest of the squad. The weathering is really unique, they look almost like their armour is verdigris. Cool effect. Rich - he is a champ. I use the secret weapon mini faded blue with some greys, I wanted to make it look like rad waste or something bad like that. I thought the oxidized copper would give me that look. I might just do something more inspired by rather than a piece-by.piece shrunken MkIIb sponson though, similar but just different enough! lionofjudah Posted June 26, 2015 Share Posted June 26, 2015 Finished painting the brass etched pieces for the raptor this eve. Didn't attach them but got Started on Polux this eve... Basecoated and first layer then a wash. Too bleary eyed to work anymore but satisfied for sure. Don't know if I will run him as Polux, may be a breacher sgt as sigismunds rules are pretty killer. Ahhh.... contemplating the Cerastus and its paint job. Will be testing out the airbrush mixtures on some other pieces before I get around to that beautiful hunk of resin. In the process of buying a house and will be on vacation the end of July so I will have to bust the knight out kinda quick like for julys ETL bid:) Have phallic flyers that arrived yesterday and a small pile of other dudes that I can add in maybe for August... Dantioch Posted June 26, 2015 Share Posted June 26, 2015 Kor'Vesh- I would love to say I was doing something important but really it was just playing too much Xbox to paint No way I would be forgetting this, the monthly challenge and the AoD forum is probably the main reason I'm so motivated to paint Still working on a theme but I like the idea of battle hardened survivors of Calth being sent in pursuit of the Word Bearers with fast moving units of assault marines mixed with heavy infantry ( Breacher squads and Heavy support marines) and lots of vehicles.
