Gab
Id always imagined the Glaive or and big volkite to sound like the seismic charges from star wars, I won't deny it - that is a pretty cool sound. ;) While I'm here - I'd just like to briefly touch on how I envision things actually deflagrating. To me, it's much akin to how paper or leaves combust without any actual flame (like the smouldering process). The deflagrating would occur at a given point and then, like the leaves or paper, the flameless combustion would creep across the surface (and inside) the victim. After the fact, the results would leave burned husks - possibly even embers - and ash. Does anyone else picture it similarly? Agreed. Like in the Blade movies when vampires get staked. Carlson793
Is it wrong that the final push over the cliff in me deciding to start a Skitarii army was the inclusion of a Cult Mechanicus Tech-Priest Dominus (and, more importantly, his Volkite Blaster) in the Start Collecting! Skitarii box, which'll allow me to have some volkite at my we're-not-ready-to-try-30K-yet FLGS? Doctor Perils
I have a name proposition for the Chargers in Hurricane configuration: Volkite Ribauldequin. If you think "Hurricane Chargers" works, I'm sure we could find some other thing to stick that name on :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308805-martian-death-ray-club/page/36/#findComment-4267805 Share on other sites

Doctor Perils
Well, Ribauldequin sticks more to the "Ancient Cannons" theme, Typhoon sticks closer to the "Storm" theme that bolt and missile weapons have. Except if you mean that it should be a Land Speeder variant :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308805-martian-death-ray-club/page/36/#findComment-4267818 Share on other sites
Slips
No was mostly going for the Storm Idea since its a Storm/Typhoon of Volkite Shots. In the same way that its a Hurricane/Storm of Bolt Shells. Nomus Sardauk
I have a name proposition for the Chargers in Hurricane configuration: Volkite Ribauldequin. If you think "Hurricane Chargers" works, I'm sure we could find some other thing to stick that name on :) I just looked up Ribauldequin on Wikipedia, so Leonardo invented an Organ Gun as well huh? Noice. Well I'm sold on the name, if it's good enough for Master Da Vinci it's good enough for me, plus bonus points for the ancient cannon theming. :) Doctor Perils 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308805-martian-death-ray-club/page/36/#findComment-4268289 Share on other sites
Hesh Kadesh
Volkite Typhoon? Volkite Sirocco? Given it is meant to be ash rather than rain? Plus, less giggle inducing than Haboob. Skalpynock
Personally I'd use Ribauldequin for rapiers. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308805-martian-death-ray-club/page/36/#findComment-4268321 Share on other sites

Lord Commander Eidolon
It's about time I jumped on board the Choom train! So, without further ado if any of you wondered what Brother Heinrich would look like as a member of the III legion, behold - First Sergeant Henricus Vestalis. He is still in need of basing and a little fine detailing (spotted a bloody mould line on the backpack too! Grr). He now comes with added Choom!! http://i67.tinypic.com/1z17f4n.jpg More pics will be on my WIP log if you are interested. Forward Assist
Unhelpfully, no. But I occasionally ponder what it would be like to have a Volkite-charger with a flamer/melta/plasma bolted on.
