do you guys run chooms with your terminators?  I'd like to work some volkite into my world eaters army and was thinking it would be nice for put them on the BaC termies.  Also, does anyone know how the new volkite kit from FW looks with terminator models?  I think the hands might be smaller than what you would normally see on terminators...

Is a volkite heavy support squad, or a dual volkite contemptor "worth" it? Or do you have enough anti infantry from other sources?

If you attached a MoS to a full 10 man squad of Culverins they will mess up anything AV 12 or weaker really! 5HP from AV12, 11 to AV11, 16 to AV10.

Plus against infantry you do on average.... 12-13 wounds to MEQs, or even 4-5 to TEQ with deflag.

Heaven forbid you shoot at something with a 4+ or worse save....

Super bonus to Iron Hands/ Alpha Legion getting preferred enemy from Autek Mor or Alpharius respectively...

With that - ooo boy... Chooooom

I've not used the new kits but I have put Volkite chargers on the Mk II/V armour CC hands for my terminators and they don't seem disproportionate.

Although terminator hands are definitely a smidgen bigger than marine hands, using a weapon with a marine hand attached to it shouldn't be immediately obvious (unlike the other way around).

Nah, bonus points for your Imperial Fists and get Tank Hunters on your Culverins without it affecting any other part of your list.

Sniping down flyers with 40 S6 tank hunter shots is awesome even if youre only hitting on 6s

Looking at the options for adding in some allies to my Legions list but once I looked closer I thought about maybe just making a 2000pt stand alone list instead and came up with the following all-choom-all-the-time list, love to get some thoughts on it, but bear in mind, its not supposed to be uber-competitive and any changes suggested MUST be armed with some form of choom-worthy weaponry.

Solar AoD detachment:

Lord Marshal - Serpenta, Paragon blade and other upgrades

4 squads of Veletaris Storm with Chargers

Allied Questoris Knights detachment;

Seneschal Styrix with claw

Scion Marshal Styrix with claw

Arbalester Styrix with claw

pretty well 2k on the dot and should be fun just from a building perspective if nothing else, as well as both being able to be used as allies detachments on their own.

plenty of anti-infantry in the chargers with two of the squads able to be taken as elites with PE(Infantry) and the three big chooms can take down tanks with the arbalester even being decent AA.

thoughts?

Did you bother putting the Veletaris into Dracosans? Otherwise they, with their 15" range, wont be doing jack for you.

nah, no points, plus the Dracosans don't have Volkites so I avoided them. They would have Dracosans when used as allies or for anything serious, but as part of the All MDR list (which will be purely for fun) they don't fit.

The idea would be to pick the "infiltrate 3 units" warlord trait so they would still be able to take part in the game.

pts are fairly limited due to needing to take 3 knights in order to get one with Skyfire.

Finally able to claim another trophy, this time it was a Veteran Tactical squad in a Pride list for the troop kill

He had to admit the Alpha Legion were good, somehow they had been lying in wait for the VIIIth's strike into this sector of the city, though Jaric and the other Terror Squads had still accomplished their infiltration undetected.

"Mondoran ready your squad, we're flushing some of the snakes towa-" the voice on the other end of the vox was cut off abruptly in an ear shattering whine.

"Repeat the last message, there was some sort of vox interference," yelled Jaric.

"Three surviving Alphas heading your way Mondoran, coming over the ruins to your south-west," came Sathad's voice instead, "Moerad and and his squad are gone; Executioner hit."

Yes, the Alpha Legion were very good at infiltrating and espionage, but murder was the VIIIth's specialty.

"Kill them all," ordered Jaric Mondoran as the enemy warriors came into range.

While I'm here - have some TS eye candy that I've spotted in the N&R thread, brothers. The dreadnought is new but the Volkite isn't. Still, worth a look-see. :wink.:

Edit: Just noticed the sword the Lion is wielding has the same pommel and hilt as the Cypher model.
