First post here.

I love volkite weapons, and I'm wondering if is worth to take in dreadnoughts. Sorry, didn't read the 40+ of the whole thread.

I was thinking in something like:

Cortus Contemptor w/TL volkite culverin & Kheres AC

Dreadnoght talon (2 dreads), each one with 2 culverins

Thank you.

Cortus-Contemptors are very much a Combat Frame. Sacrificing both arms to shooting weapons is a waste of their Overcharge Ability since you no longer have Power/Chain Fists to smack things with.

And if you want to shoot with a Non-Template Weapon, paying the tiny bit extra to get a Contemptor-Prime for BS5 and a Hardier Frame seems like a safer bet to me.

Welcome to the club, brother. I don't blame you for not reading the 40+ pages of the thread. I do encourage you, however, to give the first couple of posts a thorough read. :smile.:

Now then, as for load outs, bear in mind that these weapon configurations are primarily an anti-infantry composition. If you have adequate anti-armour, then fair enough, but if you don't then I would consider that you replace the Kheres for a dreadnought power fist.

Thanks Olis, will do.

To be honest, I don't have much anti-armor, as my usual opponents don't deploy much of it. The worst usually is the occasional landraider or monolith (both inmune to melta), althoug most of their armies are infantry based or have light transports.

I  used some volkite chargers with my Night Lords, but I'd like to try larger versions and take some feedback from more experienced players.

Firt post so I thought I'd share my favorite tank in my Epic 30k army

Welcome, welcome! Come on in, Mard. I've seen 30k epic around and about, here and there. Difficult to get a hold of unless you know who to ask, so I hear. Anyhoo, that's a nice baby-Glaive you have there. :)

It truly is a glorious game.

ReallynNeed to find some time to get the other two painted up

Now I can only assume that the Choom god doesn't care what colour the Choom is only that it flows but I was wondering if you guys have a preferance in colour? Is there an official colour? I always saw it as a green death ray personally

Red. Up to now the official depictions have all displayed the choom as red. That said... it's your stuff, you do what you like. We've seen green, blue and red representations from other Fraters here.

It depends on what color the legion is. I want my choom to contrast nicely. So my choom on my IF is red.

Red for legions (from a bunch of book covers), blue for Mechanicum (that's how FW painted the ones on the Ordinatii), non-colored on vehicles (personal preference, you don't want to keep the thing hot unless you're firing).

Greeting all. I see much love for the warm glow of Choom, and thought it was time to decloak from my usual lurker status to spread the love.

I must say with a heavy (Servo assisted) heart that beyond the conflicts of the 31st millennium the mysteries of the Volkite are not fully understood, hence Magos Dominus Lambda-Frieman here has a Blaster emitting the sub-optimal blue wavelength.

I do however have a pict feed of one of the first and most notorius Ark Mechanicum using it's naval-grade Choom.

Great thread guys, it's been a good laugh to read. :)

That's a Glaive.

White boxes could be anything - likely a Knight for the one on the left so maybe an Atropos? Or the Choom-knight, if you are going full choom.

Perhaps the right white box is a Leviathan for the choomtits?
