Man, I just realized: this thread is 61 pages long now. That's pretty incredible. I remember when it was first posted up.

...

And I still haven't gotten any choom for myself. Probably time to correct that oversight. :P

Converted choom is still choom, brother. We welcome it as much as the usual FW-cast variety. :)

Then I shall begin work on converting my men to embrace the choom...
Just do it, Brothers.

There's not much as rewarding as yelling:

"CHOOOM here comes the CHOOOM"

in the face of your opponent and then blast away one of his units with sweet sweet marsian deathray madness.

LEVIATHAN WITH CHOOOOOM!!!!!!

This fella is just the first there's another Leviathan coming. Along with some scratch built choom on several different projects.

Brothers, even though I've nothing assembled yet, I finally received my Volkite Chargers and am reserving this space for a squad of Word Bearer Cataphractii Terminators(Choominators?)

EDIT: Behold! My first five Cataphractii w/Volkite Chargers: http://i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc473/Reldn/1008161122_zpsmrsexj3l.jpg

No paint yet, and once I get more 40mm bases, there's going to be five more added to the squad.

My first pass at my Volkite Conversion. This is basically just squaring off the muzzles of my Kasrkin's Hotshot Lasguns to more closely resemble a volkite charger.

This is an Army shot. I'll get more in depth pictures once the work is a bit more underway. I'm still fairly new at this sculpting with green stuff, and my tools are a bit crude (fingers and an exacto knife).

Hopefully, with a tiny bit of sanding after the green stuff has set up, I can even out the muzzles a bit and they'll really start to take shape.

Hey fellow Choom-enthusiasts, Jolemai suggested I may want to share this photo from my WIP log with you guys. :)

^^^^^^ THAT RITE THERE ^^^^^^ EPIC!!!!!!!!! I very very well may end up having to try something similar. Do you make your harnesses yourself or buy them pre made? I'd really like to do something similar on a diorama I've been dreaming up but wiring and me aren't great friends.

Oh my gods, oh my gods, oh my CHOOM-GODS!!!

Yes, plastic choom!

Anybody got a guess what those babies will go for apiece on bitz-sites and ebay?

Same price as the BaC stuff/equivalents?

Cheers. :smile.: It's all scratch-built; the volkite effect is a custom sculpt which I then cast myself in resin. Wiring, etc, is all from scratch too. :smile.:

Here's a closer look at the volkite effect separated from the gun itself (original log post here).

I dig this shot so much. Reminds me of the artwork you get on the wikis.

Since volkite chargers now is a free upgrade for tactical support squads and they now have the option to take extra cc weps...what do people think about a quasi assault squad like that?

...or is it just better taking veterans...
