World Eaters 121st Shock Brigade

The blood spatter - after I've finished and matt varnished the model, I use GW's Blood for the Blood God. Get an old paint brush (this technique *kills* brushes), load it up with paint and flick it past a hard edge, like the blunt side of a knife. Practice a bit first, but you can aim the spatter where you like it, like on faces, up arms etc.

Continuing the Heresy World Eaters models, this week I’ve painted the new(ish) Vindicator Laser Destroyer tank from Forgeworld. Having played against a lot of Knights recently (at one recent tournament I played against three Knight armies in a row – I killed eight that day with my World Eaters), I decided to add some more anti-armour to my army. And what better than a dedicated tank destroyer, the Vindicator with Rapier Laser! Whilst some of the larger flatter resin pieces are a little wibbly-wobbly, it’s still a great kit and I think it looks excellent.

Haven’t done too much to this one – just a smoke launcher and a search light. I’d like to go back and add some stowage and a crewman when I get time!

Isinifer - although I haven't fielded it yet, I think it's pretty good! It's a twin linked S9 AP1 ordnance gun, that can fire three shots if it remains stationary (albeit with a chance of overheating. The rules are here:

The Blood Splatter and weathering is absolutely flawless. Superior to the FW display work on the website!

About the Vindicator destroyer - it's an incredible tank. I run two in almost every list now. To give an example, two of them will bring down an Imperial Knight in one turn. They'll pop a Landraider or a Heavy Vehicle with ease too.

My painting ability is so inferior... :-(

Being from Texas I MUST know where you got the revolver for your apothecary! Perhaps my dreams of an "old west" themed chapter can come trueeee!!! Also, everything here is stunning, I adore everything you've painted so far. Keep it up!

Hi Cpt Lacerus, the revolver was from an old Inquisitor scale (54mm scale) pistol set, hence the huge size. Disappointingly, I suspect that it's quite difficult to get hold of now!

Funnily enough, I think I have one of those floating around somewhere... ^_^

Afternoon all! This is Ancient Astraman Judd of the World Eaters Legion. Formerly a lieutenant commander in the 3rd Assault Chapter, his internment in Dreadnought armour predates the arrival of Angron, meaning he lacks the 'advantage' of being implanted with the Butcher's Nails. He survived the purge on Isstvan III by dint of the Legion's Techmarines simply forgetting about him (record keeping never being the World Eaters strong point) and was later woken when a thorough search of the ordnance decks of the battle barge Conqueror was finally made. Honourable and fanatically loyal to the Legion, Judd was granted the latest Deredeo armour as he could be relied upon to hold position to protect the rest of any force from enemy aircraft and armour. Whilst no one doubts his commitment to his brothers, there are those that wonder at his commitment to the cause...

People seem quite divided over Forgeworld's Deredeo model, but I really like it. It's pretty beefy - that's an 80mm base it comes with rather than the normal 60mm Dreadnought base. The only modifications I've made to this are re-positioning the arms to aim the guns out (hot water to soften the ammo feeds) and a radar turret on top. I decided not to pay the points for either the Missile Launcher or the Atomantic Pavaise.
