Son of Carnelian
Hail, brothers and sisters of the Heresy. With the recent leak of the plastic Horus Heresy sprues, it's high time I made my Imperial Fists dream force a reality. While I fully intend on making my own Praetor for the VII Legion, I thought I would start with my favorite figure from the Heresy (and all of Warhammer, in fact). Not satisfied with the Forge World model, I wanted a more knightly Sigismund. However, I would like everyone's opinions on which version works best. The bare headed options would feature the helm maglocked to his belt. I do have a replacement bit for the Grey Knight sword as well, to better represent Sigismund's Black Sword. Legs are on their way as well. Anyway, nobody wants to read a conversion, so here we are. +++ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311864-sigismund-kitbash-need-opinions/ Share on other sites
Charlo
Helmet all the way for me, especially that one! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311864-sigismund-kitbash-need-opinions/#findComment-4136415 Share on other sites
Brother-Chaplain Kage
I'm crap at painting flesh and I rarely have bare headed figures, so my vote is for the helmet. However, if you can get your hands on it from a bit seller, I would strongly suggest the head from the FW Imperial Fists Legion Command figure.  http://i.imgur.com/qwbWvb5.jpg  Or the whole body and head, and use the arms from your model above. Son of Carnelian
I wanted to avoid that kit just since I see so many other people using it. I can name two other members of the board who have done INCREDIBLY striking conversions for Sigismund using that model that I know I cannot match. Â But thank you neverless, Chaplain Kage. Teetengee
I like the first pic, although I am not a huge fan of that sword angle with that head angle. Daemon2027
I prefer the helmeted version. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311864-sigismund-kitbash-need-opinions/#findComment-4136492 Share on other sites
Operative
I'd go with him facing to the left (the model's left). As a suggestion you could try raising the arms a little higher to try and get the effect that he was going to deliver a hammer blow. One-eye
second picture, by far (imho). Helmet all the way and the sword is at a better angle on the second pic. Mk III legs would fit well btw, and add a HH feeling. Â Hope this helps :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311864-sigismund-kitbash-need-opinions/#findComment-4136515 Share on other sites
The Pounder
I'm with One-eye, the second one has more of the Knightly look of IF's Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311864-sigismund-kitbash-need-opinions/#findComment-4136540 Share on other sites

And One-eye even reads my mind with the MKIII legs comment (they're on their way)! Â Question is now, is there a better sword replacement than the sword from the Emperor's Champion model? It's probably the best tor representing Sigismund's sword, but again, I want to hear your opinions. Daemon2027
May be hard to find but the LE metal Emperor Champion model and a really nice black sword. If not, maybe the current Emperor Champion model. One-eye
or maybe the Relic blade of the Vanguard kit ? A tip from the spears of the new stormcast paladins would also fit, but the kit is expensive for a single blade (I looked at those considering the amount of lightning symbols on the blades, would fit the V legion ^^) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311864-sigismund-kitbash-need-opinions/#findComment-4137217 Share on other sites
Son of Carnelian
Yeah, not sure the lighting iconography will fit The Black Sword. The Vanguard relic blade is a great idea though. Thanks! I even have a spare. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311864-sigismund-kitbash-need-opinions/#findComment-4137522 Share on other sites
