Head is MkIV with the sides shaved off. I then cut down frag grenades to make the filters, and greenstuffed the original mouth vents and filed smooth.

That MkIV helm is pure win - I immediately thought Destroyer helmet at first!  If I ever decide I'd like a week of frustration, I might have to have a sneaky go at this idea!

Am I seeing things or do you have a boarding shield that looks to have gone a few rounds with a bloodthirster?

Recently went on the MKA painting hobby camp and made this!  Really pleased with how it came out, although it still needs some additional work on the top hatch and bolters. For those who dont know, Matt Kane was the lead painter for forgeworld as the heresy series was announced. It is by his hand that we got all the original paint schemes, so I was very lucky to be taught be him and his partners, Andy Wardle and Henry Steele. The Death Guard are in no way finished, just the sons offer more opportunity to push my paint skills. Expect updates for both forces on this thread going forward.

Ugh.... I wish I lived on your side of the pond so I could attend a MKA class

Loving the DG filters, left thigh plate looks a lil chalky...and that rhino is super sweet!! Is your SoH paintjob metallic?

Thanks Bro.

I hear that the MKA guys are planning a US trip in 2018. I coudn't say where and when though, but might be worth following them on social media just incase?

The DG filter is quite a simple conversion, its just the bottom of hand grenaades. Chalkyness is fine, this was a WIP and has come a long way since (photos in the next month).

SOH paint is not metallic - I've just learned some new ways to highlight and shade.... :)
