I'm trying to recall the flavour of betrayal though.... it is almost like a goofy drug induced hysteria that lead to that situation in AE. I mean yes there is betrayal, absolutely. If I were Perturabo I would roshambo Fulgrim the first chance I got. But it was a different kind of situation but here in this book... Deathfire it is a simple act of petty criminal behaviour.

 

I don't know it just came across as really petty to me. The legions, the traitor legions specifically, still act unified at this point for the most part. And I think they should until things start going south and everyone is out for themselves, but under Horus I wouldn't have had this play out this way.

That is true, Prot. The betrayal presented in Deathfire is far pettier than in Angel Exterminatus. The III Legion has the excuse of being crazies and using the IV for a purpose. But the Death Guard and World Bearers were extremely petty.
