+Betrayal at Calth: Conversions and Ideas for the New Box+

Nothing crazy good like some of the stuff posted here but you can make a nice looking veteran squad out of the B@C box:

Wow, love the paintjobs and the concept of blood-splattered War Hounds. If I may offer a tiny nitpick, though, since I saw this on a number of the models and it's most obvious in this one. It doesn't make much sense to have their faces and chests splattered with blood, while sporting squeaky-clean weapons, unless all that blood is from a buddy next to him getting his head blown off. I would expect most of the blood and gore to be concentrated on the extremities as they cut, punch and stomp things to pieces, with the occasional errant arterial spray on their center body mass. Although I can definitely see a helmet-less one with a blood-splattered gorget from where he was literally biting people's heads off. biggrin.png

Sorry, the significant other watches too many of those forensic murder shows, so I hear about blood splatter patterns on what seems like a daily basis!

I know what you mean but in my zeal to paint these guys I splattered them long before I should have. They haven't even been hit with purity seal yet not to mention that i needed to paint the weapons if you look at the bottom of the handle you can see that it is still primed gray........

learning occurred on this one though!

So, as my veterans aren't finished yet, here my pariah consul/praetor ( not sure right now) conversion.

Say hello to Agravaine

I got two sets to start an Iron Warriors army with. I built one set of characters as is and kitbashed the other two.

A Siege Breaker with combi-melta and power axe-

and what will probably be my  Warsmith with lightning claw, and borrowing ideas from here, underslung combi-bolter-

I found the weapon arms on the contemptor pleasantly easy to convert- just glue them together and cut round the joint to stick the arm on backwards.

The tactical marines have equaly been a joy, but has anyone else found the terminators really dull to work with? I've gone for combi-bolters and power fists and getting decent poses has been a chore...

Jap...I really hate my terminators. They a really dull. I think I cut them to.pieces and totally redo them.

I've not done any converting yet due to lack of bits, but I've got the painting started at least.12373355_10208287465684013_3689879068210

Nice Raven Guard... ;)

Beware!!! Immmmooooootaaaan Raktra will strike and the Berserkers of Uran go berserk....Raven Guard....tzt...

@helrerskelter: well, as a night lord you can improve your termis with skulls and humantrophies. Doesn't fit for Wardens of Light

Anyone tried to put StormShields on the termies for some Imperial Fist goodness?

I remember someone on Ash Barker's stream putting Storm cast shields on them......

Found it.

Round the 10 minute mark.  They look great.

Is it possible to have all the terminators in the box be armed with power weapons other than fists, or would it require other pieces from other kits? If so does anyone have any tips on changing the arms for regular terminator arms without spoiling the look of the cataphracti armour? Ta.

I second this, the only thing I can think of is using the gun hands as the place of insertion.

Arming them all with power fists isn't always feasible.

In the BaC box, for the Cataphractii:

5 cataphractii terminators

5 combi-bolters

5 power fists

5 chainfists

5 pairs of lightning claws

1 power sword

1 heavy flamer

...there are also 3 tactical plasmaguns of which two can be converted into a single plasma blaster.

Ciao,

R.

I've actually seen that conversion in person. It looks almost seemless. I'm pretty sure he just used the full stormcast arms
