Seen some beautiful celtic knot-work on a Space Wolf mini in the latest White Dwarf. Gonna give it a try but want plenty of practice first.

My Space Wolves. I used the 40k upgrade pack for the shoulderpads, some SW bits and resin pelts.

I'm rather pleased with how they turned out.

Thanks. I found it easier and quicker to work with imperfections with a darker tone of grey. Red is also easier to match with a darker shade of red. I also wanted them to stand out from my regular Space Wolves.

Looking really nice.Are those MaxMini shoulder pads? Did you need to do a lot of cutting/filing to get them to fit? Where is the helmet from?

 

WargamesExclusive shoulderpads from their terminator kit, same with the helmet and topknot, sword is Kromlech.

 

Yeah, I had to chop the hell out of him to get the arms to work. I actually started out trying to just do weapon swaps on the actual arms, but decided that wasnt ambitious enough, had to trim the cape a bi and grind down the shoulder nubs on the arms that eventually went on.

Holy crap, that Mhara Gal is awesome! The biggest problem I have with the Word Bearers models is they're so monopose that I can't bring myself to bring multiples (which makes Gal Vorbak an issue)...

Great greenstuff work, the runes are a particularly nice touch to add some much-needed flavor to B@C Contemptor.

I went with a very simple repose when building mine, once the two legs and body were glued together I took my scalpel to the torso join, and separated the legs from the torso. Rotating this joint seems to have added a little bit more motion to the model.

 

With a pair of assault cannons, one aiming and one resting I hope it looks to other people like the Dread was walking forward and has pivoted mid-step to unleash a barrage of fire on a target of opportunity.

Excellent! Just waiting on the delivery of some Volkite Chargers for me to complete the very same style of unit. The Conversion Beamer is very nice too; is that the one from the Predator Executioner? If so, yay! I have one spare!
