When the Betrayal at Calth boxed game was about to come out, I felt it was time to get back to my Horus Heresy World Eater army. While waiting for the box, I kit-bashed a gladiator themed veteran of some kind. I think he will be the sergeant of my rampagers, if they're allowed to have this weapon combination. I'm not sure, but he will at least be a sergeant of some kind. The torso and right arm are from the Blood Reavers in the Age of Sigmar box, the shield is an ogre belly protector (or whatever the metal things on their bellies are), and the rest are some FW bits I had laying around. I'm quite pleased with this one, so I think there will be a squad of similar looking models for him to lead.

I also made a pair Contemptor Dreadnoughts. I forgot to photograph them before priming, so that are quite dark, but you get the idea.

When I got the Betrayal at Calth set, I started to play around with the bits, and made myself a squad of Destroyers. What really annoys me with the box, is that they all have GW's classic Space Marine poses. No running poses, and only one pair of arms able to hold two separate weapons every ten models. This probably works with most legions, but not World Eaters. I want my army to be running towards their enemy, waving their chainaxes around.

Even though they look a bit too relaxed for my taste, the destroyers turned out alright. A thing that is quite great with the set, is that you get a lot of the MKIV helmets with the breathing stripes pointing downwards. These helmets look a lot angrier than the regular ones, which make them work great in my army.

Lastly I made some changes on the Praetor that came with the box. I'm not sure if lightning claws are the best choice game wise, but he looks mean, which is more important.

Cool, another BaC buyer building Worldeaters

 

I have actually been collecting FW World Eaters for several years, I'm currently giving them some touch ups, and improved bases. I will post the whole army wen I'm done! 

 

That rad launcher looks good, is that a re-barreled heavy bolter?

 

Also, the gladiator is magnificent. Definitely make a squad for him.

 

Correct, I'ts a Heavy bolted with a Cadinan grenade launcher barrel. Simple, but effective conversion.

Thanks! The One on the right has plastic parts on it. I used the right right gun arm and the left leg from the Contemptor from Battle at Calth. The Idea is to use the other FW leg on the plastic model, to be able to re-pose the legs easier.

I just finished a tactical squad of World Eaters. Or at least most of a squad, I only had enough FW parts to build nine models. But now that I've got the Betrayal at Calth box, I'll complete the squad and make more.

Thanks for the comments guys! I like the one drawing his sword as well, so I'm glad you like him.

 

I have done some work on Khârn's base since last time. I actually painted the model about a year ago, but gave the base a round of orange and brown weathering-powders to make it look more interesting, and mach the new models.

I painted Angron over a year ago. But the base was, like the rest of my army, grey and boring. So I gave it a round of pigments like I did with Khârn's base, and now the whole model looks a lot better.

I have some quick pictures of my World Eater Red Butchers from Forge World. These are lovely models, with a lot of small details, which make them fun to paint. Even though they are cool, I don't like their helmets much. So I exchanged some of the helmets with bare heads.

I have finished my World Eater Contemptor Dreadnoughts. The one in the middle was painted a long time ago, but I Fixed up his base, when painting the other two, to make it more similar to them. I painted the World eater symbols on the new Contemptors red, and I think this look a lot better than gold. So I might get back to the first one, and repaint the symbols.

I haven't had the chance to work much on my world eaters lately. But during the holiday I did manage to put together some tactical marines and a contemptor from the Betrayal at Calth box. I used spare FW heads, and some chaos backpacks to make the squad more interesting.
