My Night Lords are my largest Legion at 3500pts and I started that with Betrayal at Calth so that's 3500pts in what, 10 years?! Are you picking up Saturnine? I got my saturnine and have been slowly building, doing the platform first, and now 3 saturnine terms, and a 5 man disintegrator squad, which seems like they will die to their own guns most games. With the release of the felllade I had to pick one up, so that's on preorder, and I need to get my local club organised to play some learning games! Xenith Posted January 9 Author Share Posted January 9 I've been gradually getting to grips with 3rd ed, but only managed 3 games since release, generally due to slow uptake from my club. I can honestly say, that, regardless of the quality of the rules, GW really shot themselves in the foot with the major revamp and good will of the community, and severaly underestimated the influence of the...whiny influencers who decried the game. At any rate, I'm well overdue a Master of Signals,. so I made an awesome one you might have seen on my IG, however he was pretty...bulky and in Mk3 armour, and the feeling just wasn't...Alpha Legion enough, so I swapped out his backpack to a new Mk6 marine, smashed on an infiltrator comms head, and gave the mk3 guy a new backpack - I think both read pretty well as MoS's! The bulldog looking guy...he really screams iron warriors to me. I'm also painting up a few thousand sons and blood angels, but he just doesnt look angelic. What do you think? Xenith Posted January 9 Author Share Posted January 9 As an addendum, model wise the saturnine box is AMAZING, both in terms of value and the quality of models. I've been reinvigorated to make some new things for my Alphas: The potato-cam image below shows: 10x Mk2 tacticals 5x Mk2 veterans with disintegrators, inc heavy disintegrator (to be Rangdan Xenocide veterans) 5x Mk6 Assault marines with Claws - intended to be Ravens Talons (lol) or usable as assault veterans/command squad with jump pack I've also taken the time to convert the vexillas to be hand held standards on poles. Ijust love the look of this, and it's worth the effort - the hands from the new assault weapon box, as well as the numerour combat shield hands you get have made converting this much easier than before!
