snip...

That flyer is sitting on my desk for 2 years and is still not finished... only my dreadnought drop pod tops that with 3 years:sweat:

Those are Rookie Numbers, you need to boost those numbers up if you want to be a real slacker.  :tongue.:

At least I can add a year now. :blush.: Both have gathered a fair share of dust.

Maybe I should convert my drop pod into something useful like a savings box.:tongue.:

Thanks all.

I'd go with a company designation on the kneepad. Barring that, a campaign badge of some variety.

I'll do my best. :happy.:

Just started to assemble the Hellblaster squad. The Master is looking so small next to them. Even the base is higher.

I plan to try the new contrast paints on them. If I can get some. The ones I need are out of stock online, so I have to do a little round trip to the GW store on the weekend. Fingers crossed that they have still some.

I dried out some of the contrast paints. I'm quite happy. They dry smoother than the inks I used so far.

for those who are interested... in more details:

I had primed with corax white

then used vallejo Glacier Blue as base coat

I mixed 1 drop Talassar Blue 2 drops Medium and 2 drops apothecary white

after drying

than I dry brushed it a bit with Glacier Blue

I think the Hellblaster squad will act as guinea pig, but I guess they are used to it. :tongue.:

Thats a great test.... Whats your overall opinion on them Lost? A good tool to add to the hobby box?

So far, yes.

But I just tried apothecary white and a bit Talassar Blue.

The guy at the GW shop told me to ignore this "one think coat" thing, just paint as normal and shake the apothecary white well.:happy.:

The smooth drying effect is nice and saves allot of work.

They are a bit expensive.. but I bought so many colors that just gather dust... it hardly matters.

And actually the price saved me from buying more than I need.

I have some Dark Angel green, red and black to experiment on the Hellblaster.

Lets see if this a good way for me or if I have to go with my usual painstaking method. :biggrin.:

I had hoped to make some work in progress photos but I was somewhat in a hurry.

So it's just the finished squad.

Wow stunning paint job! This colour scheme is beautiful.

Are those bare heads from Shapeways? I think I got some from there they look similar unpainted (the material).

Man that green is so vibrant, and the basing is spectacular! I would never have thought to use red hue for rocks. Ties in with the red accents on the model so nicely!

Thanks.

Yes the heads with the fluffy beards are from shapeways.

For the rocks I needed something to contrast with black.  I was thinking of a floor plastered in red stones on a old castle on Caliban, that was then overgrown by some moss and weeds. Somewhat like my driveway.
