+ Casual 30K Hobby Challenge -March '16 ++

March is upon us and I, Divine Overseer of Vault 022 (Casual Challenge Experiment) Nevindar hereby opens up the thread for the month!

We all know how this works by now, pledge some models to paint this month, build your armies, and enjoy the opportunity to stick it to the Traitors/Loyalists. Full rules can now be found in the Hall of Victors thread - where anyone involved so far should feel happy to post their full army shots!

As a basic reminder, every model you pledge to paint is worth points. Once you finish the model and show us you earn points for your faction. These are always safe, so there is always an incentive to keep painting! The scores are as follows -

Infantry - 1 point;
Large Infantry (terminators, bikes, rapiers without crew etc.) - 2 points;
Monstrous infantry - 3 points;
Vehicles and Fortifications - 6 points;
Lord of War (including Primarchs)- 10 points;
Warhound Titan – 15 points;
Reaver Titan – 20 points (still hoping to see one someday!)
(If you feel like painting a Warlord Titan for the Challenge… We can work something out)
Building pledge is a quarter of a point for the model pledged, and if the model is also “upgraded” with a paint job in the same month it will receive full points for painting but none for the build itself.

Seeing as the Loyalty and Treachery challenge is on, have no fear of joining in the Casual Challenge as well! The more the merrier and let’s give Kor’Vesh something to read through once he gets back!

Having missed the last 2 months, I better drag myself back to the painting table. 

 

I, Huw - Ironwrought procrastinator of the Tenth Legion - vow to paint a 5 man strong terminator command squad for the Iron Hands and a single Salamanders centurion all of which I built months ago but forgot to paint

 

If When I've done that, there may well be more vows.

Need to figure out what to paint next, just finished all the greenstuff on my first terminator squad, but I need my third vet squad and transports in three weeks for the escalation league I am in.

20 Tac Vets w/ 2 Heavy Bolters.

I, Aeternas of on and off dedication, vow to paint 10 terror marines for the VIIIth, and the Warmaster. And maybe a bit more depending on birthday presents. :D

Ah, Nevindar, seeing someone else with my usual pledge tracking problems gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

 

In all seriousness though I'm happy to tag team responsibility this month if you like - I should have decent, reliable internet from the weekend. You've done a stellar job sir, and I'd love to make this a team effort somehow moving forward, if you are game. I'll PM you!

 

Right then, done to the real business -

 

I Kor'Vesh, warp stranded son of Vulkan, pledge to (slowly) paint a four man command squad (possibly without a full and fancy banner) for the XVIIIth Legion Astartes, the fearless Salamanders.

 

If all goes well this month, I'll try and paint a Predator as well, and should even have a couple of games too.
