Corax is Corax: Soulforge, Ravenlord, a new novella called Weregeld, The Shadowmasters, The Value of Fear and Raptor in one numbered book. Weregeld is Gav's final RG piece for the time being and brings the Raven Guard in position for where they need to be before the Siege of Terra.

I agree that's probably going to happen but from Gav's post here http://gavthorpe.co.uk/2016/05/16/warhammer-fest-2016-event-report/ it looks like they're going to release a The Last Phoenix type book first, I actually commented on the post to ask for him to clarify.

Awesome thanks again! I will keep  a eye out for him to reply to your comment!

I really really hope we see them at the siege of terra!! I always thought it would be cool if they played a part in bringing down some of the traitors defences behind enemy lines or something like that!! that is a awesome piece of art as well by Neil Roberts 10/10.

I'm actually re-reading the Raven Guard books now, just finished Raven's Flight & Face of Treachery.  Previously read the series in published order but stopped just after Unremembered Empire, just re-read the Scars arc to include Path to Heaven so interested to see how that approach works for the Raven Guard.

Have they done the link with why there is such a interest

in Nykona Sharrowkyn and why magnus wants him

would love to see how that pans out!! he's my favourite character in the series!

He doesn't feature in any of Gav's work... Sharrowkyn has to my knowledge only been handled by Graham McNeill who introduced the character in Kryptos and then in Angel Exterminatus. He's pretty bad ass as a character, his duel with Lucius at the end of Angel Exterminatus was off the scale awesome! The Seventh Serpent is the most recent work featuring him, which introduces the plot thread of Magnus's interest but there's been nothing more as of yet... roll on Crimson King!!

Whut? "The Last Phoenix", like "Crusade's End" and the upcoming Prospero omnibus are simply that: Omnibuses. They have nothing new, they just collect novels and related short stories in a different format. "Corax" is a numbered title, 40 it looks like, with all those stories included. Gav confirmed it as such in multiple places.

So according to the BL Newsfeed Echoes of Imperium which is slated for September release is not a numbered book but an Audiodrama CD collection;

"Echoes of Imperium' will collect together four audio dramas on the theme of Imperium Secundus"

I have a feeling this might be a re-release of existing material if it's only 1 CD... but there's always the possibility it could be a multi CD release and will contain new material? Unfortunatly it's starting to feel a little like July and September are all fur coat and no knickers blink.png

As audio dramas aren't my thing I agree with you on September but that is very much personal preference.  It's also why I haven't got worked up about the recent releases as it has given me the opportunity to access stories I've missed.  On that point I think I remember reading an Afterword from Laurie Goulding which said that author's don't simply transcribe the script into prose so I think the release of The Either will be different to what people have experienced from the MP3/script from Meduson.  How much is a matter of debate.

So Echoes of Imperium is a cd collection, that could be interesting to me.

All depends on what is in it.

Does anyone know any other good collections in cd form?

Also, apparently the Magnus novella will come out this year as well, so that could be November/December release perhaps.

Corax is numbered I believe, so that will be #40.

There has been a cd collection similar to this released a few years ago called Echoes of Ruin. It contained 7 audiodramas that were around 10 mins long each. 6 were re-releases and 1 was newly created for that collection. Of the 7 audiodramas 5 tied into existing story lines and 2 were pretty much stand alone and this is still the case now.

I would assume that Echoes of Imperium will be a mix of existing and new material, though with absolutely no information at present that is purely speculation. Hopefully it will be on more than 1 cd, after all BL commissioned that stunning cover which will have cost a pretty penny so they must assume it will sell enough to warrant that investment.

If i were to take a stab in the dark and guess at existing content that could be used then The Herald of Sanguinius would be an obvious choice... potentially Stratagem & Rules of Engagement (from Age of Darkness collection) too though with those im really clutching at straws!

I'm keeping everything i have crossed for new material biggrin.png

  • 1 month later...

I was pretty excited to see his post re this going to press... but then when i saw Laurie Goulding's comment:

"You git. That's easily the best thing you've written."

...no word of a lie, my mind almost went into meltdown! I'm sure this had nothing to do with the can of Monster Ultra i'd just polished off... but seriously though, this cannot come round quickly enough! My money is on a Christmas Day special release like Pharos with the full release coming a few months later into 2017.
