I'd have sworn on a stack of Bibles that I've commented on your Scars before, but evidently not.  Don't quite know how I screwed that one up. :unsure.:

Anyways, these are the hawtness. Probably the most appealing tribal markings on V Legionnaires I've ever seen, and those bikes, man, those bikes. Sexy. Y'know, my one White Scar is looking a little bit lonely up in the cabinet. Maybe 'tis time to give him a few buddies. :biggrin.:

Brother Pheidias - Excellent Work Indeed,

i am very Glad i stumbled onto this Gold  , This Almost and i say Almost in a "super high pitched and animated voice" makes me want to start some scars

but alas i have already signed up with the stoic but '0' personality boys in yellow :laugh.: .

Very well done and the bikes are sweet sweet!, Glad your touching up the weathering on the metals, little touches like that are worth it.

The other thing i am loving is your fiction from the rememberancer's point of view...a really nice touch there and a pleasure to read it.

i look forward to more quality models and writing from you...

Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to share.

Cheers, Mithril

Completely agree with this, not sure where this thread has been hiding but damn its good

Cheers everyone, I guess it's the sporadic updates that keeps me under the radar, ever elusive, but then I guess that's the way of the V. Legion :D

I actually decided on these after painting a single White Scar as a break from my 40K Imperial Fists, so I know the draw of the stoic, yellow boys well!

Looking great. You have a solid white and scars markings. How do you get such clean markings?

Thanks!
The cleanness of the markings is somewhat debatable, really, but it's just a fine brush and steady hands, really.

"During my tenure with the V. legion, I was often astounded at the way their dedication to swiftness permeated every facet of their way of war. This birthed unorthodox solutions quite unlike any I had seen in my previous deployment with the XVIII. legion. Where the Salamanders would break an enemy formation by driving a wedge of their heaviest infantry into the enemy lines, the V. would probe the enemy positions at great length, before deploying their own linebreakers. Often, these came in the shape of the dread Manghudai. Mounted on Outrider bikes, often sporting twinlinked Plasma Guns and equipped with a plethora of Power Tulwars and other fearsome close-combat weapons, they would crash headlong into enemy formations, after these had been brougt into a suitable state of disarray, harrowed by the faster skimmers and jetbikes. I first became acquainted with the Manghudai of Ukchulban after the conclusion of the Ethrosian Compliance, when Jeremiah Theld presented us with the vid- and pict-capts he had acquired after "disappearing" from his Legion escort at the battle of Ikren Harbour."

Ukchulban epitomized the Manghudai's dedication to the traditional Chogorian way of war, wielding a Guan-dao, or swordstaff, the reach and  leverage of a poleaxe married to speed and maneuverability of a sword.

So, after a well-deserved break after the ETL, I've gone back and started taking (better) photos of my completions, adding fluff and a few finishing touches here and there as well.

"While all members of the Brotherhood are proficient in all aspects of warfare, as is to be expected of the Astartes, it is in the saddle of a Scimitar Jetbike that their fearsome skills truly come into their own. Fast, maneuverable, and unhindered by terrain, the light skimmers lend themselves so well to the Chogorian way of war that it could almost seem they were made for the V. legion. Striking hard and fast, only to withdraw from retribution, the Arban of Ashikhtemur is often found racing ahead to claim first blood for the Brotherhood, and once the enemy is suitably exposed, unafraid to show where the Brotherhood gained their fearsome moniker, Shattering spears and enemy formations in devastating charges"

Ashikhtemur struck me as a ferocious and serious warrior, reminiscent of the great birds of prey of Ancient Terra, circling the enemy, probing and baiting them with relentless strikes, Ashikhtemurs stern gaze and steady hand keeping the Arban in line, until the final devastating strike, swift and brutal, tearing the enemy to pieces in a hail of Heavy Bolts and whirling chainswords, Ashikhtemur at the forefront, the shimmering arcs of his glaive leaving only red ruin.

Just thought I'd throw in some more pics of the Scimitars while I wait for an opportunity to get some decent photos of the two Javelins I did for the ETL.

And thanks for the overwhelming praise guys, it really means a lot coming from the members of this community

Fantastic looking scars mate! I'd love to see them arrayed for war all together, maybe on some nice terrain.

Thanks! I'll see about that some time soon, maybe on terrain if I can sort it out ;)

I wish you had an apocalypse size army ! These guys are so good like someone said before not enough white scar guys

Well, eventually I hope to be able to field the entire Brotherhood with Superheavy support, allies and the whole shebang, but funds and time are limited :/

This is really really good stuff

Love the bikes, jetbikes, glaives, curved chainswords...everything, really

You see those warriors from Chogoris? They have curved chainswords. Curved. Chainswords.

Looking good my man!

I've never really liked the Outriders from FW but seeing them painted up and weathered so nicely has changed my opinion somewhat.

I'm not planning on using them myself but you've changed the opninion of a stubborn son of Dorn, well played my good man, well played

I'm not even going to get into how much I like the Scimitars, because I may run out of adjectives

Lovely jetbikes! Weathering looks spot on

Thanks, I think it shows that the Scimitars are my true love of the Forgeworld Heresy line.

Thank you! I must admit that while I love the glaives, I'm sort of worrying that I'll end up overdoing them across the army, but as long as I vary the design slightly, I think it'll work out .D

I couldn't help myself, Scimitar Jetbikers wielding chain-scimitars :D

Thanks again! I must admit that I fell in love with the Outrider-bikes from the get go, probably the Akira-fan in me that fell for the design. Incidentally, I didn't much enjoy painting them, though I suspect it might have been ETL-fatigue and the looming deadline that did it, but I am quite happy with them now. And no mean feat, if I've influenced your inclinations in the slightest, then I count it as a victory, for the Khagan! :p

Am I seeing official FW stuff?

Looking fantastic! Love both, fluff and minis.

Keep it up. A friend of mine recently discovered something like Breacher bikes. Not from FW but from another source. The would fit really well in your army.

Can't wait for more. Got no likes left, just feel liked, ok? ;)

Am I seeing official FW stuff?

Whaddya mean?

All the models are gw/fw, except for the Power Scimitars on some of the bikers, they're from www.mastercrafted.co.uk

Ah, wow, high praise indeed!

@Tyrannicide: Thanks, I'm trying :D

Even over the howling wind, Golchu could hear the soft hum of the antigravitational plating, the reassuring murmur a constant companion on his decades of hunting. On this day, the maze-like valleys of the Armethica was their hunting ground, rocky canyons and ravines with only the faintest trickle of water running below them. Pushing the Javelin through another hairpin-turn, he finally caught sight of Bochai and his speeder. "He'll beat us to the kill", Aighur stated, the slightest tremor of irritability filtering through the vox. "He will regret his impatience, they must be expecting us to return". As the twin speeders swerved into a wide, boulder-strewn depression, Golchus prediction came true. The Ethrossian convoy were ready, having abandoned the three wrecked crawlers, digging in under a rocky overhang, with the four remaining walkers cycling for targets, even as the infantry around them swiveled their rifles to bear. Bochai still managed to fire first, twin lances of searing light flashing out at the foremost Crawler, the quadruped walker exploding even as Hughal added his heavy bolter-fire to the fusillade. The remaining Ethrossian walkers wasted no time, their accelerator-cannons sending a hail of hypervelocity munitions at the Javelin. Bochai was good, Golchu had to give him that, as he swerved and banked to evade the incoming firestorm, but the enemy gunners still found their mark, the starboard lascannon rupturing in a hail of debris and fire. Capitalizing on his brothers' lack of luck, Golchu swept in low, lascannons lashing out again and again, one Ethrossian crawler blasted clean off its four, piston-driven legs, another toppling as its munitions store went up, ripping off two legs in the process. By then, Bochai had regained control, both Javelins swept out in a wide turn, the last target gained all but simultaneously. Three searing bolts of light struck it, a hail of shrapnel scything through the closest infantry, the remainder scattering as best they could, even as the heavy bolters swept over them. Golchu opened the vox "Make the report brother, but make sure to explain why you are short a lascannon now". "I will, as long as you tell them who got the first kill". Bochais laughter seemed to linger on the vox as they sped onwards, again racing to find worthy prey.

The Javelin carries sophisticated augury arrays, making it highly suited as a forward scout and pathfinder for the Brotherhood.
