Alternative Sisters

I really want to back that KS but after I got burned by raging heros KS I'm extremely hesitant

What happened? Was it the second one (or has there been three, I've lost count). I backed the first one without problems except for a delay (which, I've found, is more the rule than an exception in KS projects). Another miniature KS that fell through did pretty much stop me from backing further projects, though.

It was the second one. Took almost 2 years to get my models and then after repeated soaking in superclean they we super oily. I ended up selling them. I do like a few of heresylabs stuff so I may try his KS

Not for me, those look more like one-off models for characters and such.

Yeah they are, really I'm getting them just because I like painting a variety of miniatures :P  There's only a handful that could be Sisters characters.

Grishnak and Wargame Exclusive have the best models.

The first has only about 5 models though while Wargame Exclusive has units of 5 and then 8 including a banner bearer and leader. They also have Canoness, Celestine and Geminae alternatives. If you want to start from scratch probably go with them to get your troops, elites and HQ to have the same aesthetic.

just got my Wargame exclusive sisters in the mail and they are quite nice, the bit of non armor just above the corset is hardly noticeable especially if you just leave it black for an under-suit. I'll get one on a base soon to compare the sizes. For assembly the inside ball joints of the arms are marked with a number to match to a respective right and left arm.

Wow, the intricate details really stand out!

Just a question, is there any preparation required for models form WGE? I know with GW, they recommend  soaking them in soapy water to get rid of any of the leftover residue, but would it be good to do the same for WGE models?

WGE is resin so standard resin prep. However I just pulled them out and started putting them together, hardly any mold lines.

I think they would have done really well if it wasn't for plastic sisters being announced.

This is especially true since Anvil's Sisters aren't hyper sexualized like Raging Heroes or Wargame Exclusive. That said, the Anvil ones are way less ornate, which is a bit of a downside. Still, I bought in for a non-Sisters project.

Solid work fox, it fits in really well

thanks

finished the back pack, used the one's they came with and got some "sisters" back packs of shapeways and used bits from them to give them a more gw sisters look.  With the remaining one's that I have I think I'll just make a 2 part green stuff mold to make the 'exaust ports' for the rest of the WGE sisters so I don't waste my shapeways stuff.
