+++The Fate of Gilgamesh+++

@Eldrick: once again, Brother, you enlighten my day.

Single question: considering there's only one month to go and that a pledge shall be opened by June 25th 11.59 pm and completed by June 30th, 11.59 pm (Paris time), can you paint simultaneously Havocs and 12 Plague Marines so that I can merge them into a single topic which will go into the Chapel?

We've just received a new Brother that will deploy a Drake and some Warp Talons in the Palace so that allows some flexibility.

What do you think?

Ok Brothers...

War Host Command validated last night our new operation which I christened "Iconoclasts". The concept of manoeuver is:

Objective 1: Securizing Fort Nox and Conquering the Warpgate.

Fort Nox will be my priority as I will deploy there 2 Exalted Sorcerers + 1 more if requested, depending on the Alliance's next deployments. The Warpgate is already ours but we will increase our advance to make it almost impossible for our foes to get it back. Three of our Brothers will deal with it.

Objective 2: Conquering the Chapel. Three warriors of the War Host will launch a sequential assault (four if Eldrick add some firepower) with 3 consecutive waves, for a total of ca. 2000/2200 points. I requested support from two other Brothers.

Objective 3: Defending the Palace. At the moment, this objective is taken into account by a single Brother from the Night Lord Legion. That's the weakness of the plan so I need reinforcements from Frater others than Eldrick to deal with that.

All three objectives are to be achieved simultaneously. I'll focus next tactical reports on this operation.

Thanks! That keeps me going! Speaking of which...

Lord Putres Malfis disembarked from the exit ramp of his command rhino, its exterior littered with small arms fire and the neglect of 10,000 years of constant war. A half dozen nurglings scampered underfoot. A miasma of thick black-green smoke belched from his powerpack. He had answered the call of an old ally... if anyone within the eye of terror could truly be called that. Slaves, xenos and the contents of the Fort Nox medicae ward had been promised to him. Kraven, his Lord and Master before he had broken off from the Oath-Broken to form his own warband was many things: A tyrant, bloodthirsty, and often cruel. But he was not a liar. Putres gave the battle sign for the rest of the squad to disembark, as a second rhino pulled ahead to provide covering fire.

Putres had heard legends of the Night Lord they were to meet in an honor guard. He hoped the tails of terror were not supposition or rumor....

Tactical report:

Our assault is a complete success... All objectives are to be met.

The Warpgate is ours by more than 430 points and the Loyalist seem unable to retaliate. A Brother will add Ahriman to complete the move and achieve the conquest.

The Palace has been assaulted massively by four Brothers, most of them from the Death Guard, the Iron Warriors and the Night Lords. Our advance there is superior to 800 points. Carrack still has a topic awaiting finalization.

Fort Nox is secured thanks to your Plague Legionaries Eldrick. They arrived just in time to reinforce my Thousand Sons and Night Lords. Also a Death Guard Brother deployed a pair of Dreadnoughts. With more than 1200 points (provided we complete each topic), our advance is far too high now.

The Chapel will face a second assault from the Alpha Legion and the Iron Warriors, in order to allow the third wave (my Night Lords and World Eaters) to steal this sector.

Brothers, the Alliance is lost and they don't know where to respond. The Blood Angel Captain who leads them is totally lost and has no reserve anymore. So it's time to deliver another massive blow... ^^

Tactical report:

"Iconoclasts" is a complete success so far. The main objectives are met, except for the conquest of the Chapel which is still on-going. The Alliance is unable to answer properly and they, at least for the moment, are simple spectators... ^^

Yet, something has changed...

The War Host decided last week to try to steal this session: five Brothers among us have committed their forces into a final massive blow to win this last session which would really an outstanding achievement. We have enough reserve to do it and we will produce a significant effort to make it happen.

In that framework, the only thing I request from you Brothers is to complete your current units thus I can transfer the final pictures on the War Zone and focus on Episode 5's Plan and Orders. We are on the verge of writing another bloody yet successful page in the history of the Gilgamesh Campaign and your names have definitely to be part of it.

@Eldrick: that's nice, provided two things:

- current WIP shall be completed first: your Nurgle units are key in order to keep Fort Nox;

- I'm reluctant to ask you to add more units because the balance risk/opportunity is quite fragile and I don't want to ask for more and compromise those reinforceements that can be also deployed next session.

That leads me to tell a bit more about next session and Episode 5. In Episode 5, there will be 37 combat zones representing the whole planet. Three of these will be "merged" so to speak into one specific War Zone that I decided to name Uv'Sharack (for UVeron' SHAdowbladecarrACK... ^^) and will be the basic War Zone for all B&C Frater (with some fire support from myself). Therefore and because it will encompass one Hive and at least one symbolic mountain area, we'll need troops over there.

The good thing is that the constraint will be softer than in Hive Gilgamesh because of the change in scale, resulting in more simplicity to manage troops.

Thus, those DP and Sorcerer are likely to be more useful next session than for the current one.

Advice?

i can hold off thats fine by me. The second nurgle squad is almost done/

Given what I'm working on regarding Episode 5's first sessions (at least the first three out of six), that's all for the better.

Good game about your Nurgle units: I'm waiting for the final results because the first WIPs are really promising.

I will start posting my own completed units in the weekend. I hope Carrack will be able to do so too.

Good luck Brother: we're doing something great and some historical records are about to be crushed... ^^
