WarriorFish
They're looking good, when can we expect to see some paint on them? I'm not sure where you could fit the robe/secondary colour in either, the usual spots are covered... perhaps you'll get an idea once you start painting them? dracpanzer
Will hopefully get started on one of them today afterI wake up. 3rd shifter for just a few more weeks. I had been doing the trim of the exorcist plate and cupola in the orders primary robe color with the armor matching the armor of the order. Which makes Sacred Rose simple because I want their robes to be all black. My Argent Shroud however have two color robes (red inside, white outside) so I am torn, Which do you think would go better against dull silver. Red or White? WarriorFish
Hard to say, as both would work well. Red and white do go well together anyway, so perhaps you could do both? For example white with red somehow, like a stripe or half and half? dracpanzer
Hmm, maybe divide the trim of the exorcist armor plates being one color with the cupola and sides of the church compartment the other. I'll have to play with it as I go. Got some time to get a little bit done tonight. Worked on getting my gold panels painted up. They'll be covered with tape and left that way for most of the painting process. One of the last things I do is peel the tape and clean up the trim. Keeps my ham-fisted self from rubbing off the gold while trying to keep the little bugger steady. First layer of gold. After a wash of Aggrax Earthshade, light drybrush and stipling with the same gold as before. Another light drybrush, this time with mithril silver, then a very light layer of Aggrax Earthshade. Shots of the plates for the Sacred Rose Repressor, I think this shows the gold effect I use a bit more. Thoughts and Comments appreciated! Grgobart
My Argent Shroud repressor, still debating how the robe colors will tie in. For the panels/armour plates of my exorcists, I painted the flat background parts inside the frame in my robe colour. dracpanzer
I'm thinking that with the Argent Shroud repressor, since Red is on the inside of their robes, I'll do the Exo armor plates with red trim, and put the white on the outside of the "church" compartment. I'll see from the Ebon Chalice repressor which will have white up and down whether I want the cupola to be red or white. Thanks for the input! dracpanzer
Got a chance to get some pictures while waiting for a game at the club today, lighting there is so much better than at home. Wife is sensitive to bright lights, makes it hard. These are my Argent Shroud Sisters, nothing really completed as they were an experiment in batch painting. Will put the push on finishing them up once the Repressor project is done. Aqui
Celestine looks great and it's always nice to see so much Melta The figure at the front of the last picture (with what looks like a shotgun), is that a custom model, or is that the Now out of print Canoness from way back (the one that had the two pyres on their pack)? dracpanzer
Its originally a Reaper Paladin that I have converted to be my counts as Uriah Jacobson. Some pics of todays victory against a Gray Knight army. After it was obvious that the Gray Knights had no chance our Warlords squared off in the tower as a last hurrah for the fun of it. My Living Saint went first of course, hit on all her attacks, wounded once which Castellan Crowe promptly saved. He then returned the favor, hitting on two smash attacks, wounding on both, and she promptly failed all her saves. Was fun. WarriorFish
I'd say that's a successful experiment in batch painting :tu: Well done for showing the GK who's boss too :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322653-dracpanzers-etl-vow-sisters/page/4/#findComment-4514507 Share on other sites
Bjorn Firewalker
Your Sisters' faces seem dull. Is that due to poor lighting, or do your Sisters ritually cover their faces with ashes before battle- in penance, to demonstrate humility before the God-Emperor, mourn fallen Sisters, or other reasons? dracpanzer
Well I wish I could say that there was some fluff reason behind the lack of highlighting on my Argent Shroud sisters. Truth is they were batch painted and I got distracted (by my Repressor project, then my ETL revisit of my original re-acquired 2ed/3ed Sisters force, oh and moving) before I got to the highlight phase. It was an exceptionally bright day in the shop, that might have something to do with it, but none of my Argent Shroud sisters are really done. I do intend to do so, after the Repressors are done, and maybe my Silver Tower set, oh and maybe my Bretonnians...... dracpanzer
Got some time to work on my Argent Shroud Repressor today. The gothic church bit is waiting to be painted on the side, I'll assemble it when the painting is done. The red is just block painted, didn't have time to give it a wash and start shading highlighting it. Thoughts and Comments appreciated! dracpanzer
Got some work done on my Argent Shroud and Sacred Rose repressors. Neither are done yet, but they are getting there and I have to go act like an adult in a few, so I thought I would throw up some WIP shots. Thoughts and Comments appreciated! dracpanzer
Finally got some work done on the last of my remaining Repressor Conversions. Argent Shroud and Sacred Heart just need decals, Ebon Chalice getting close to completed block painting. dracpanzer
Bit of a group shot of the finished repressors, ebon chalice is still in the detail and highlight stage. Couple of conversions to turn sister superior models into just bolter armed sisters for my crusade force troop squads. Just to add a bit of flavor while remaining wysiwyg as well as using up some of my too many superior models. Keep painting folks, the war on unpainted mini's is at full swing! Sume
Are those Space Marine flamers? I do like the idea of the church top. I am considering on how to make my own repressors. I do got 4 guard dozer blades that I am going to use for the front. After that I am considering just a base rhino hull, and possibly make my own transfers or stencils to free hand some artwork onto the back. dracpanzer
Yes they are SM flamers. Church tops are plasticard and some spare city of death terrain. Rhino's are some abused ebay rhino's. With how expensive immolators are, I'm open to whatever puts more tanks on the table. The "we're so crazy about the big E we put a church on top of our tank" doesn't hurt.
