To Recover the Past... [OW/DW] OOC Thread

Recommended Posts

Posted these questions in a different forum but figured I should ask here too.

How complex is Astartes Battle Sign?

Is it widely known amongst most chapters?

Could it be used to identify enemy species?

Would it be a part of Deathwatch training?

I think all of you probably know where Im going with this.

To me:

  • Complex enough to properly convey standard Codex Tactics/Orders
  • Apart from Chapter Variants, every Space Marine should know Battle Sign as part of their Hypno-Indoctrination; all 30k Marines new Battle Sign, for example.
  • It should be, yes.
  • A "Standardized" version should be, yes.

My experience is with hand signals organic to a Marine fire team and obviously larger units. Ive trained with several foreign militaries and never had any issue getting my point across with just my hands and arms.

I figure, if mere mortals in the modern age can do it, what must the pinnacle of human soldiery be capable of?

Thanks for the input, post going up soon.

5 stealth rolls, and five separate attack rolls, players' choice as to which form of attack they intend to use in this encounter.

I will endeavor to improve the game, overall; I'm pretty sure it's been feeling a bit lacking recently.

To that end, as soon as the rolls are up and I can make the post I intend to make, things should pick back up.

Is this series of threads still alive, and if so, how much interest is there in going forward?

I expect things can continue; the question is what would it take to keep the game fun and engaging?

Please advise, all,

Thanks,

Karack.

Im all good with continuing and check the section daily myself for any updates.

Honestly its the classic symptom of pbp games that they fall off pretty fast in most cases. The only real way to combat this is to have a steady stream of posts from everyone coming in but that can be hard with personal lives and stuff.
