I thought it was about time I took stock and get some images of my Astra Militarum, Squat army... as it stands at the moment. There is still a bit to go but this is where it's at :) :

I still need to sort out the third infantry platoon and the transport for the Infantry Company and Veterans... but I'm almost there :) ... well, apart from paint ;) .

The High Eschelon units count as allied Space Marine units.
Today, I've started painting these guys:

These casts were sent to me by Macrocosm. They are from the ones I sculpted for the kickstarter and I have actually put a bit of paint on them (primed and I have started the black on the Commissar)... I couldn't help myself :) .

These will be the first members of my grand new Astra Militarum army :) .

I requisitioned a baneblade chassis today. Working quickly to get it through the forge and paint shop.

GW was rather clever in how the pieces interact. I could see myself buying 3 and magnetizing the main gun so I can have all 3 chassis variants with minimal hassle. It only took me like 20 years in the hobby to buy 1 baneblade, we will see how quickly the second follows.

Great purchase! The Emperor must smile upon you!

Fortunately Commissar Elmo had already prepared a great tutorial on how to magnetise them. I've used it twice :D

If you build it in time it will make a great entry into the current hobby event! :tu:

It was a tonne of faff but you can magnetise a single box to enable you to build all variants. You do have to cut one of the panels very VERY cleanly in half though. Mine still doesn't quite slot together perfectly but it's better than buying multiple. Unless you want to run multiple of course!

Just ordered 3 manticores to replace my three basilisks in the Emperor's Wrath Artillery detachment. Will see how much of an improvement they are vs SM with the new Tank Ace rules. Going all out mechanised with a Baneblade, 3 x Manticore, 3 x Hellhound and Tank commanders with troops and astropaths to make a brigade.

I've run out of Squats to paint... so I'll be sculpting a few more now :) ... here's the start of my new Astra Militarum army: A Commissar, Sgt and some troopers:

and a small squad of Ratling Snipers (the bases have now been painted to match the others):

These will all form part of the Command platoon, consisting of a Company Commander, a Commissar, a Command Squad, a Ratling Squad and two Infantry Squads (each with special weapons). Lots to do :) ...

The manticore doesnt get any buffs from the emperors wrath specialist detachment.

The emperor has truly smiled on my guard during this time of dire plague. I purchased the Apoc Spearhead Detachment from my local store mere hours before my state shuts down.

It's been a while since i've been around here focused on other things. Decided recently to open my tank factory and finish my Chimera, Punisher and Hydra. Minor things to do but i'm happy where they are now.

Started working on a Devil Dog but I need to wait for an order of paints come in the mail. I need more London Grey and Flat Brown paints for the rest of my vehicles.

What is this "done" you speak of?

The tank company is fully painted (just needs decals) and I have NO plans to add to that particular tank company. I think 12 tanks in a company is about right :smile.: .

These are the rest of them:

I may end up getting more tanks but this company is finished... done... :smile.: .

I know this post is a while ago but just want to say I love the use of Tiger IIs for your IG army. Love that tank.

Today, my army got some more future recruits :) ... some new head sculpts:

The top two will be available for purchase (at some point) but the bottom three are one-offs for my army :) . Once the first two are cast up, I'll be adding some of those to my army as well :) ...
