GAME ENDS TURN 5

SCORE

BLOOD ANGELS: 5

ONE FORCE: 6

It was a close game all the way through – at the end of my turn five I was leading five points to three but in the end the mobility of the One Force flyers and my lack of options for dealing with them at that point won them the day, securing three points in their turn five.

If I had left one of my tactical squads / Razorbacks in the quarter with the lone Stormtalon I could have contested that quarter resulting in a draw, and I would have won due to First Blood (which only counts in a draw in this mission). I also could have split the Sanguinary Guard and Priest into two units to win that quarter but that may have affected their survivability.

If the game had gone to six or seven turns the One Force flyers probably would have been able to whittle my forces down and extend their lead.

Thank you for the report. Good writeup, good looking models and battlefield.

One thing. Could it be that the iron hands player played an fist of medusa rather than an gladius? For an gladius u need two battle companies and one auxiliary.

Riot, i think this is a terminology issue caused by people online referring to the Double-Demi company formation as "Gladius".   Gladius is actually the broad detachment style/name (like Decurion is for Crons), while the Demi company is a formation within the detachment style.  You only need one Demi-company + auxiliary minimum for a Gladius style list.  When you do two (and have a Chappy + Captain) you get free transports. Most people play two when playing a Gladius - despite you still getting some cool bonuses for one!

@Luther- cant believe you only shaved off 1 HP from the Raven ><;

Hi morticon,

thanks for clearing things up.

I play sometimes codex space marines but that is a thing i must have overread.

In this case it was an managable list for us BA. But the stormwing is a great thread against an army with only a vew anti air options.

While the Sicaran is somethimes good against flyer i find the deredeo with skyfire more reliable.

I often fired with my sicaran against an chaosdrake but mostly i took only 1-2 HP off.

I realised I made a critical error and forgot that the auto cannon on the Sicaran was twin-linked! Had I not forgotten that I'm pretty sure I would have taken the Raven down and probably won the game as he wouldn't have been able to score all those zones at the end. The Sicaran would also have been doing more damage to the other targets it shot at.

Doh!

I had a sideboard in this list and could have brought my Deredeo instead of the Sicaran and Vindicator, but was concerned about having all my eggs in one basket...
