Fenris Hjolda! Horus Heresy Space Wolves

Been ages since I was active here on the B&C, I took a break from 40k for a while. However, since the Rout are very close to being unleashed for 30k by Forgeworld I have finally started working on my new Space Wolf army. For now I will be focusing on units I am pretty sure we will still see in a wolf force. So tactical marines, vet marines, terminators and a heavy support squad.

 

So far I have found the grey I will be using shown here as a WiP painted model and basing will be ruined city themed.

Still needs the grey highlighting, I am just deciding on what style highlighting I will use, Next up is the concept base, the sidewalk may get lighter in the final version.

Just last night I finished converting a Heavy support squad, a conversion I had started over 3 years ago before I took a break from playing 40k. They are converted from the second edition long fangs and devastator marines.

That is one brilliant set of conversions, and a great basing/scheme combination to top it off. Had to subscribe, this looks very promising!

Nice conversions I love the old Long Fangs. Still some of my favourite miniatures. The gold trim looks good.

Thanks for the comments guys, it feels really great to be back to working on Space Wolves. They were my first 40k army back in Rogue Trader and I have maintained an army of them through every edition.

Here are the first 5 of my MK II veterans, although I think I'm going to swap out the melta for a plasma.

Finally worked out poses on the last 5 Space Wolf Mk II vets. The Wolf with the Power axe is the leader.

This army is gonna take forever to build, since I plan on making each warrior unique and that takes lots of thought. In the end though I think it will be totally worth it.
