Good afternoon brothers, sisters, people who play Eldar and all those in between.

 

Today I am once again jumping on the glorious addiction that is the hobby bandwagon and have teamed up with a buddy to start a new Deathwatch force.

 

I intend for each of my fellas to tell a little story, for each of them to show that they all bring something unique to both their squads and the entire team.

 

So first and foremost, a few of my first marines, the brothers of Veteran Squad Brynjar.

See if you can guess the chapters and of course, any feedback is much appreciated.

Noice: great use of bits and sculpting. The legs on some of them (especially Brother Rholes,) it looks like the green stuff could use a bit more smoothing out but even in this rough stage they're totally full of character.

 

Guesses for the Chapters:

 

Brother Kerberos: Minotaurs, obviously.

Brother Thrax, Black Shield: No idea, honestly. Possibly an Executioner or a Flesh Tearer?

Watch Sergeant Brynjar: It's pretty apparent that he's a Space Wolf.

Brother Rholes: Uncertain, but maybe a Crimson or Imperial Fist?

Evening all.

 

Much appreciated for the kind words all, people seem to hold Thrax in high regard, probably why i started painting him today.

 

A few of you hit the nail on the head with this one, Thrax has a darker history than your average Blackshield. Though I wouldn't hold him to blame.

The question as to his name though, Thrax was one of the names for one of the sons of Ares. And what better for the son of a war god than the name of the son of the god of war?

 

There has been a bit of progress with him, I hope you all enjoy.

A little bit more obvious who he is now.

The Heraldry is a little rough for my tastes, but I will clean it up when I get my next opportunity.

I see him as more of a War Hound than a brother of the XIIth legion.

But he is getting there, as are his brothers!

 

I also managed to get a little paint on Kerberos, as well as starting the final member of squad Brynjar.

 

I'm really liking the contrast between the red and the black/silver, though I have a feeling it will be overshadowed by the bronze of his shield. (When I get around to it!)

Brother Praedon, currently a one armed bandit. CANNOT wait to get my hands on the veterans box next week, I have about 300 uses for the collective bits! Praedon will either be enjoying the addition of a beautiful new storm shield, or maybe one of the stalker pattern bolters? Too many decisions!!

Greetings all!

 

Such a fantastic weekend, the Deathwatch releases being one of my favourite highlights, i must admit to a purchase of two boxes of veterans and the Space Marine Heroes box, reinforcements incoming!!

 

 

Really nice conversions. I'll look forward to seeing the squad ready for war.

Much appreciated mate, I'm looking forward to a little purging this upcoming weekend, though there will be a fair amount of proxying methinks.

Now, TO THE UPDATES!

With my recent acquisition of the new Veterans boxes, I was finally able to finish off the arming of Squad Brynjar.

 

First up is the man himself, scoring himself a smooth lookin Inferno Pistol and an upgrade to the backpack and shoulder pad.

Still have to fill in that death company marking on the hand.

Next up, the token Ultramarine, with his HTH.

I had to change the head on him, as I just wouldn't see him kicking around a battlefield without the strictly required uniform.

With an added gift tonight, I was knocking around the idea of a Black Templar for a bike squad, though I also wanted to knock up a Templar on foot. A little hard to do when I wanna have no doubles when it comes to chapters in the force.

 

So I caved to my own desires and just threw him together on foot.

I just love this bloke and his calm purpose, hand rested on the sword, striding forward into enemy fire.

Though I have one question on my mind, to add the book, or not.

Unsure where to go with that spot, I like the book, but at the same time think it could be replaced with a few scrolls, or maybe a reliquary?

Evening all.

 

Been a bit too long since my last update, with my eye wandering through the codex a little, through a few old books that just happened to feature either the Deathwatch, or some of the more "out there" renditions of the Astartes and a little bit of hobby disorder that makes up my workspace.

 

@Black_out. Much appreciated brother. I'm a fan of your Night Lords. Looking forward to an update.

@Olis. In my mind, it's more of a savage eye poke. Just powered by a small, thermonuclear reactor.

@Andvarr A. Daaaaarrrrryyyyylllll. My knowledge of baseball consists entirely of the Simpsons episode and half an innings in a bar in San Fran.

 

But it's time for a few updates.

 

A bit of work to do on this one still, but my first HQ, Chaplain Thorus Maneus of The Genesis Chapter.

He's a standard clampack chaplain, with the backpack from the LOTD sergeant, spacers in the legs and waist and a few additional scrolls and seals. I am looking for some little bits to make a sort of rosary for him, tiny Imperial eagles and the like, so suggestions are needed!!

I will be building up his chapter symbol on the shield, with a little ornamentation showing praise to the Ultras too, another suggestion needed.

 

Next up is a group shot of the next 5 man unit.

Once again, still a lot to go on these guys, cleaning up the legs, acquiring the needed bits to make these fellas look like they're really carrying the gear they need to complete their mission. Sourcing out the pouches, magazines and explosives to gear up these lads is taking a little bit, but they're gonna look the part.

 

One last little bit that is getting added in, despite the common statement that there is only one left, there's a few bits and pieces popping up that maybe there are a few of them still around.

This first fella will be part of what's known as the Sagyar Mazan.

I wonder how I am gonna make him look the part??

 

Back to the Watch Fortress for me lads, need to get these blokes finished up and continue the work on a secret project I've got coming for this.

Looks like it's the one from the Forge World Character Conversion Set.
