The DIY shields look great, only the L- shaped ornaments seem a bit thick and wide in some cases. what was the thickness of the plasticard you used?

They're structural support for the shield, I want to say 1mm thick for the card.

I had some finesse and temper issues while building them as I wanted to make them a nice band, but after slicing through and snapping them i kinda settled and did what I could. Being quite heavy handed fiddly bits are hard :p

I need to follow this thread for more ideas. Got my Tartaros and MkIII to turn into Ultramarines now. Taking the idea for autocannon conversion to make sure my Calth Cataphractii become Fulmentarus-bit-complete.

​Has anyone else come up with a good idea for MkIII breacher shields? I was expecting Prospero box to creat 100 different creative ideas for making Breacher marines out of conversions.

Well I converted a Chymeriae Assault Squad for my Black Shields Warband "The Accursed" armed with hand flamers and a sergeant with power fist. I love the Mrk3 kits they are awesome pretty brutal especially mixed with other bits got plans for few more squads as well when I can get more bits. Sorry they arnt based yet as I am still waiting on bases I ordered last week to arrive but doubt they will arrive til after Christmas

MkIII Breachers with plastic shields from Pop Goes the Monkey via Shapeways. Quite an easy fit. Had some irregularities in the surface so I would recommend a careful sanding before pairing. I didn't notice until I painted them.
