What  strikes me is the difference between these and the first tacticals you posted. They are leaner, meaner, your painting got more controlled and precise, really great job. Are you planing to Add Primaris to them ?

Hi everybody !! Thanks a lot to everyone for all those kind words ! Seems like those tactical marines are apreciated it give me just the motivation for doing the ten others ;)

 

@Augustus : Cheers mate :) ! For the chapter symbole it's a good question. Since I paint all the chapter badges it's kind of boring to do so I made up to 3 chapter symbol per squad maximum. In the Kisame tactical squad you've got two of them but they're not easy to see on those pictures. Also I love the pauldrons full of tattoo and the one with sharks looks a little bit empty ..

As for the squad designation I've always love the idea of a really effective structur inside the chapter but totaly incomprehensible for outsider who look at them. Thats why I don't use insigna out of the company number.. the fangs on a lot of shoulder pads are alway by eight ;)

 

@MrBadweed : Thanks a lot brother ! Yeah I see the evolution too make me almost wanted to throw them away x)

For the Primaris I'm not sure yet. But If I take some It would be no more than a 10 man tactical squad and super plasma maximum.

I've still to work on my background  

 

 

So out off a repeted demande I'll shed some light on how I do my tribal patterns.

 

I use a really simple trick for that. You have to know that polynesian tattoo are composed of multiple codified patterns. That I don't respect ^^..

But for make it simple you could only use one of this original patterns to have a good effect.

The one you need ise the classical swirl : (1)

 

 

 

After you have mastered it, you can add some other simple patterns as (2), (3), (4).

 

So.. The main idea is to make some swirls in a restricted area like this :

With this simple tricks you can do quickly a lot of different patterns :

 

 

and like you can see it's always the same swirl that we have here (in pink on the picture) :

 

After that you can add some other pattern to the mix in order to creat a lot of different design :

was planning on doing something like that with centurions to make a 13th company iron priest. now that I've seen something similar and how it works, confiriming the purchase =)

@Augustus : Yeah exactly ! I've made them a while ago but never get the nerve to paint more than one of them.. Time to get ride of it ;)

 

@Triszin : I'm not a big fan of the all centurion things but I'm sure that there is something to do with those big warriors and tribal concept, like we can find with space wolves, carcharodons and the like .. ;)

I've already design and made my own tattoos / exile markings

And it was a big hobby for me to draw tribals and polynesian inspired tattoo for my friends and myself. 

That's a reason why I fall in love with carcharodons in the first place ^^

My only fault with Tyberos is his right arm. I would have spun his hand 90 degrees so it looks like he's stepping into a strike with his claws. Otherwise he's awesome.

That's dumble brown highlighted with wazdaka red ;)

 

 

Finally get rid of those assault centurions. I take my time to paint theme and the really hot temperatures in france were pushing me toward outdoor activities and smashed my motivation down ^^'' 

But here they are ready for the 8th edition :

I'm currently working on redoing the base of all my carcharodons (20/102 miniz left) for the new regular size that my firsts shark had not and for an more homogeneity with the right pigments and blood effect.

 

I'll do an army picture once finished ;)

The proportions are a little exaggerated, that's true. Can't unsee it. But jesus, there is so much to love going on with those guys. Rule of Cool Wins Everytime. (In my book, anyway.) Those guys are legit.
