Umbros
Hi all, Going to try my hand at a blog as a way of keeping track of my progress and motivation. So I have a few projects ongoing. The first is an Ad Mech force, the second is a 30k Imperial Fist force and the third... Well, for the third, I bought a Sector Imperialis set (for 25% off) and am building a city. Nobody is here to read these words, so here are a few pictures for you (sorry for the lighting, it is winter here). Step 1: Skavenblight Dinge on roads, dirt, paving. (1 hour) Step 2: Splodges of castellan green and dryad bark (1.5 hours) Step 3: Dawnstone drybrush on dirt and paving, Ushabti bone drybrush on paving, Agrax/Nuln/Athonian washes on road. (4.5 hours) Step 3.5: Recess wash and smear on paving stone, administratum grey drybrush of road, half of leadbelcher done (6 hours) Obviously I'm doing 2 panels at a time, roughly following the beautiful Duncan's guides but I'm looking for some different ideas on how to do some of the foundation areas. Something that is drab and weathered, but different from silver/bronze/brass. Next up, I'll show off my mechanicum test model, a 'finished' building and who knows what else. Umbros
Thanks! Further progress: Step 4 (ten hours): Finish off leadbelcher on relevant panels and sidewalk (I used other steels to mix it up). Pain Dark Reaper, The Fang, Stegadon Scale Green on building foundations. Warplock bronze on piping. So once I've finished off the last base details all the foundations/pipes will be washed variously in agrax/nuln/athonian to really give it a nice feel. Then I'll be drybrushing with necron compound/fenrisian grey/administratum grey. Umbros
Hey all! More progress has been made. Huzzah! Step 5 (12 hours): Wash Nuln Oil/Agrax/Athonian into the foundations, sidewalk, etc. This is tedious! Here is a nice little building I made and did in a few hours.
