The Return of Celestine

Hello

Greetings

Do we know her new stats/rules? Because of not, then there seems to be no point in discussing it.

I have read her rules now. I am not going to disclose them.

Then why mention it then tongue.png

Agreed, not cool to basically say "I have something you don't nah nah nah!". At the very least confirm whether they changed or stayed same.

I thought I made it clear - she has some significant changes in rules. All of the models have their own rules in the box, but there's no indication of any force organisation requirements.

My post occurred between the time of your first cryptic post and your second, more explanatory post.

Looking at the new Celestine sprue, it seems that she's easy enough to assemble withouth the scroll-thingie, though since it's shown from the wrong side it can't be seen if the cape needs any extra work to cover over the attachment spot. I wouldn't mind the scroll thing otherwise, except that it'd make it a pain to put her in a figure carrying case, she'd take up too much space or alternatively would have to make it detachable.

I've seen the rules just now and we need not have worried. Her damage output is mostly the same (better against vehicles though) but her durability has gone through the roof! She'll be nigh on unkillable in lower point games

Even if she doesn't join a squad (which she can) your opponent will have to put through a MINIMUM of 16 wounds against the three of them to kill her

One interesting clarification from the tablet edition's description is that Celestine appears to give nearby units access to new (?) Acts of Faith rather than simply giving them the Act of Faith rule:

Physical Codex description: Saint Celestine confers Act of Faith on nearby units

Tablet Edition description: [The book contains] Acts of Faith that Saint Celestine confers on nearby units

Apparently, she stabs Abaddon. He does live though, from what we know. In turn she gets killed by Abaddon, presumably. That was a rather short-lived return Oo

but on a 3+ she might be back next campaign ? :)

I edited it a bit. Chances are, she's just wounded, but we have no hard info yet. Just snippets that canngo either way. Newest info is that she had the upper hand in this fight. I am just very impatient with my posts :D

I'm 99% certain she doesn't die. If you read through the pages on display, the page after the one with Abbadon striking at her with Drach'nyen refers to her as "the wounded Saint" and she's certainly still alive on "The Death of Defiance" when Abbadon teleports out.

but does her newfound durability come with an accompanying points hike? I liked her old glass canon but bargain price nature.

Just stop teasing and spill the beans already :P

Considering that she comes with two buddies (although they might be optional), seems to give access to some kind of Acts of Faith to friendly units in an AoE and, according to others in this thread, is substantially more resilient, I would be rather surprised if her points cost hadn't gone up by a decent amount. I'm hedging my bets at 170+ points, probably somewhere more towards 200.

They aren't optional, but your estimates are pretty good!

Apologies for repeating a previous question, but does anyone have confirmation as to how celestine fits into FOC (other than the triumverate formation)? I really like how her rules and price are sounding, but I will be devastated if she cannot easily fit into a pure sisters army (with our current options being her availability as an HQ for CAD, AD, or that weird codex imperial agents detachment).

without exact points

 - for her Stat line think Commander Dante with one less toughness and one more wound (and sword instead of axe).

 - Sword now gets armourbane

 - Geminae are basically 2-wound sister superiors with with rosarius (rosarii?)

 - she has a leman russ stat line Orbital bombardment

 - She can bring one of the twins back each turn, including AoF turn.

 - Cost is 40 melta bombss

:/

Mixed feelings, that description sounds like a Marine -1 unit save for her ressurection capabilities. If she lacks an AP2 weapon she is out of contention against many units which is not good for the points, and a half-assed orbital bombardment is, well - half assed.
