Tell you what, let's blow the socks of GW/FW with BotL and maybe we can use the project to get in. You can go into rules development, while Blunt and I become BL writers. And the others get dibs on wherever they want to go.

That's the best plan I've heard all week :D

Woohoo! Forge World writing here I come!

It's beginning to look as though 2+ saves are going to be pretty rare, given that the Knight, Dreadnought and Morkanaut all have 3+ saves and are all big and heavily armoured. It'll be interesting to see if the 'super-heavy' armour like on Land Raiders or Fortifications gets a 2+ or if they just get higher Toughness values.

And I shall be the LorebringerTM, the Guardian of the Fluff, the Cardinal of the Canon, the Guy That Hits You With A Cricket Bat When You Write Propose Something Stupid! :D

And I got cookies. Everyone likes cookies. We need more cookies!

Aka the weird, old guy in the corner. Sangi, here's always a seat for you.

I like cookies. I can write rules for cookies :)

You know, rereading the Grave Stalker's early years, I'm surprised by the similarities between them and the Drowned. Both often acted as scout forces early on due to depleted numbers and became bitter with their roles as specialists, which would lead to their downfalls.

I'm also surprised how many Legions weren't ready to go solo at the start of the Great Crusade: Grave Stalkers, The Drowned, Iron Bears, and Crimson Lions. Almost a full quarter of the Legions had to avoid independent campaigns for the sake of survival.

How does that compare to canon, I wonder? We don't quite know the full story there, but I suspect the V was cripped before Jaghatai because he so utterly swept away what had been before him.

I believe it's stated that in canon, the Vth and IXth both had gene-seed problems around the same time as the IIIrd, although not on the same scale
