That's already looking great! You're very good at making those greenstuff vent mouths, and I'm sure they'll be even more awesome when you work more on them. Do you plan to paint the robes in the same purple as you did the ones on the Fabius Bilis count as model?

Thanks very much! Yup, the robes will be painted purple, but the chaos/Slaanesh symbols on them will be picked out with a different colour. I'm not sure what yet though, possibly red or blue because they're my usual spot colours.

Chosen are looking great, I'm intrigued about this 'other' project as well. If I can help let me know. I'll be through your way early Wed afternoon. I have a goody bag waiting for you.

Ooooh, that does sound exciting! Thanks very much, I'm hoping to have more progress on the Chosen sometime over the next few days. Conveniently I'm off on Wednesday!

wow, lovely greenstuff work!

Well thanks very much buddy!

A simple (for you at least) bit of GS and the models suddenly become EC rather than DA, very nice - I may need to steal the idea ;)

Thanks buddy, though the putty work isn't quite done yet! And your more than welcome to help yourself to any ideas you see on this log :)

Holy sh*t, these look beautiful! That black and vibrant pink works like a charm (though I might be more than a little biased), and my, are your conversions fantastic.

Great stuff!

Well thanks very much! I'm glad you like my take on the Emperor's Children :)

I've got the Chosen built and ready for paint, so here's how they're looking.

And a side-on photo to show some of the green stuff work I played around with on the shoulder pads.

I've also started playing around with 32mm bases with these guys. I'm pretty sure I'm going to change all my Noise Marines onto 32mm's. Not really for the larger base sze, its more so I can add on lots of little battlefield details like I've done with the Chosen.

As usual I'm amazed with your work, very cool chosen! 32mm bases look much better on marines, I've been building mine on those recently and it gives you more space for cool basing and otherwise unstable conversions or reposing (frequent on chaos...). However I was thinking something was wrong with those chosen and couldn't figure what it could be, untill I realised they had their backpacks missing, I'm sure they'll look perfect when they have those!

Your quite right, I've left their backpacks off to make painting them a bit easier. Though I did notice that the Raptor heads are a bit big on the Space Marine bodies. They look a little disproportionate to me. I'm hoping they'll look a bit better once the backpacks are on, but I might have to change them for smaller heads.

Some great sculpting as usual. Love the details on the cloth parts, it's really impressive how you can keep the detail so thin! Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks very much! I'll hopefully have a bit more progress to show soon. But no guarantees, work gets in the way far more than I'd like!

Every unit needs a Champion, so I've started working on the Champion for my Chosen. Here's a little sneak peak at what I've got planned for him. Still early days yet, but I'm pretty happy with how he's shaping up.

Also, I'd just like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to Biohazard who gave me a literal mountain of really awesome models and bits. They’re going to come in really handy for many of my planned projects for my Emperors Children. So thanks very much man!

I had my first game of 8th edition yesterday. Biohazard and I played a 2000 point meat grinder game. I gotta say I'm really liking the new edition, it's a lot more straight forward than the previous edition. Although some things did take a bit of getting used to, no additional attacks for charging and flyers for example. Also, it was pretty cool to see how tanks work in combat now; my Maulerfiend was taken out by Rhino's! And Berserkers getting to attack twice is just nasty.

Of course I took a few in-game photos.

I'm currently waiting on some bits orders to arrive, so hopefully I'll have the beginnings of a new project to show soon.

It looks like an awesome game, your army looks excellent on the table! Also I'm sure you'll like 8th, Noise Marines rock! I just wrote an article on my blog about them because I love how they perform, now they're pretty mobile units with some above-average sonic shooting and a pair of nasty tricks under the sleeve, just as Slaanesh would have liked! I hope they don't change much in the Codex, though the Blastmaster and Doom Siren could use a price reduction...

The Noise Marines did perform pretty well. The extra attack once they die was really handy, especially when the World Eaters were closing in. I used it to throw grenades quite a lot! But out of curiosity, what do you mean when you say they're more mobile?

Your forces look great facing off like that, I knew I recognised those WEs from somewhere:)

A maulerfiend getting taken out by rhinos sounds a bit ridiculous but seeing the picture it kinda makes sense haha

Thanks very much, it was an awesome battle! The Rhino's were really surprising. They don't have very many attacks, but they're strength 7.

Every Sonic weapon is now assault, meaning that they can run AND shoot and, when running the maths, the -1 BS doesn't has much impact on the average wounds dealt by Sonic Blasters (it rounds to 0,3 against MEQ in both cases). And moving those extra inches really makes a difference when wanting to avoid enemy units or having to rush objectives.

Just you wait for the +1 to-wound stratagem! A unit of 10 Noise Marines with Sonic Blaster shooting 30 shots that wound other Marines on 3+, or GEQ on 2+ and anything up to T7 on 4+! :D

That's sounds awesome! Is that a definite stratagem, or just wishful thinking?

I never actually did much moving. Being up against a close combat army like the World Eaters, I just sat back and let them come to me. Which was perhaps a silly thing to to do, they got over the board really quickly. I had lost almost 50% of my army by my second turn! But a whole unit armed with assault weapons putting out 3 shots each every turn is a lot of fire power for an opponent to have to deal with.

Was indeed a great game. Need to organise another soon. I took some pics as well ill get then up on my log.

Looking forward to the new project, I think you should make the TRex as well ;) :tu:

I'd definitely be up for a rematch! Maybe next time I'll actually know how to use my army! I can't believe I spent half the game thinking my Noise Marines were BS4.

The new project is already underway, so I should hopefully have something to show soon.

A definite thing iirc.

Could've been just a very good rumour as well tho. I don't quite remember. :D

Anyway EC just got a Stratagem that lets a unit shoot an additional time (so 60 Sonic Blaster shots in a unit of 10!) and a Psychic Power to give a unit a 5+ FnP. I am VERY pleased! :D

Hopefully you've seen the warhammer community Legion Focus. ;)

I hadn't! But I have now though. Can't wait to get the new codex.

I'm really happy to see Feel no Pain making a return (albeit under a different title), and it may give me a reason to dust off my sorcerer.

August is a pretty bad month for me. I'm working 2/3 extra hours a day, which is great for money but lousy for the hobby. That’s not to say I've not had any time to do a bit of modelling. Over the past few evenings I've started playing around with an idea for a Nurgle Daemon Prince that I've been wanting to do for ages but could never figure out what I wanted to do with it'd wings. When I saw the new Dark Imperium Bloat Drone that problem was solved, and now that I've put together the funds to get all the necessary bits and kits I've finally made a start on the fella.

As you can see it's still very very early days, really just a mock-up of what I'm thinking about doing. Nothing is set in stone though, I'm not 100% on the pose, and I've not started the weapon yet. I kinda like the 'at rest' look with a lowered weapon and I was also thinking of having a scythe that was actually part of the arm. I'd like to play around with the hammer arm from the Helbrute kit, but unfortunately I don't actually have that kit. Also, I'm not too keen on the feet. I was planning to use the hooves from the Maulerfiend kit but, despite having two of those kits and never having used the hooves, I don't seem to be able to find them! And the skull on his chest won't be staying; it’s just a space filler until I find a cooler part.

Anyway that’s as far as I've got with him so far, and I'm sort of making it up as I go at this point. So All suggestions and criticisms would be much appreciated!

That looks pretty sweet! Very interesting nurgle prince, I kinda like that he's not all swollen and fat. Maybe a more malnourished look would be cool?

I see what you're saying about the feet, they look vaguely avian as is, and that sort of tzeentch blasphemy won't do on a nurle model:) Maybe try sculpting some hooves? Shouldn't be too hard
