I SystemSyn answer the Call of Chaos and vow to complete

1. Leviathan Siege Dreadnought conversion.

2. 6 man unit of Chosen.

before December 15th 2017. If I do this successfully I will receive the Mark of Total Hedonism and continue on the path to ruin. If I fail I’ll wear the Mark of the Lost and I expect no mercy on my soul!

Since it's my first one, and I don't get a whole lot of time for the hobby I've decided to play it safe and only nominate units that I'm already working on. I know the Chosen are a bit of a cheat as they're already really far along, but I couldn't just nominate the unit champion. So they're included in my vow, but it's mostly going to be about the Leviathan Siege Dread.

I should have some updates soon.

OH YEAH! Like I said I am looking forward to what you do with that dread. I didn't know those new plastic ones were huge.

I know what you mean. When I first got my hands on the kit I wasn't prepared for just how big it is. Threw my original conversion ideas right out the window!

The Chosen are all done, they've even got backpacks!

And I've made a start on Chaosifying the Primaris Dread, still very early days yet though. I'm working from the bottom up, so adding armour trims to all the armour plates on the legs was the first step. They're pretty much all on there, next I'll need to file them down, tidy them up and add all the little details, mostly rivets.

Chosen look great! Love the combo of colors and I will need to look back at some older posts on how you did the helm. I love the touch ups you do for them and it makes me wish I didn't lose a pack of noise marine upgrades with the top knot pony tail helmet.

And yes. Saw a comparison pic some time ago and just...yeah...that's a big stomper. Yours is off to a great start with that trim. Wish I had that skill to add to my tanks.

Thanks very much, glad you like them so much :) If there's anything you'd like to know feel free to ask.

And you lost a whole Noise Marine upgrade pack!? How did you manage that?

The chosen look much better with the backpacks, it is what they where missing. Actually those backpacks are quite cool, where are they from?

And you're crazy good at doing daemon engines, that leviathan is going to rock.

Thanks man, I'm hoping the Siege Dread will fit with the rest of my walkers. But I'm also hoping to have it built for a conversion competition on Saturday, so I'm sort of rushing through it a little. Luckily it doesn't need to be painted for the competition, so I can always revisit the conversion before painting it later on.

The backpacks for my Chosen are from the actual Chosen models from the Dark Vengeance set. One of them is also an old metal one, I have no idea what model it's originally from though. Its been in my bits box for years.

The trim looks great on those armour plates, the old metal backpack I think may be from Azrael, maybe.

Cheers buddy, the next thing to do is adding all the rivets to the armour trim. I'm not looking forward to that. You could well be right about the backpack. I've had it lying around for years now, so I'm glad I finally found a use for it.

Bold, clean colors and outstanding green stuff work so far!

Thanks very much :) I should have another update pretty soon.

I've started working on the main body now.

The legs are a bit further along now too, but I don't have a photo of that to show, hopefully I'll have another update tomorrow though. Like I said in a previous post, I'm wanting to have this guy built for a conversion competition on Saturday, so I'll hopefully have him at least partially assembled soon.

Thanks very much guys! It's coming along a little better than I thought it would, so hopefully it'll actually be finished in time. Here's how it's looking so far.

And I've started working on one of his arms. Well, I've started both arms, but the gun is still in a few pieces, so here's the start of the combat arm.

Thanks for all the comments guys, you’re really helping me to push though and get this conversion done it time! This should be the last unassembled photos I'll post, but I just wanted to show the progress I've made so far. They were taken at my desk while I was (and still am!) working on it, so there's too much lighting for photography, I'll try to get some better pics once it’s all assembled. So I might post again tonight, but probably not, I may well wait for decent natural lighting tomorrow.

Now it’s back to the desk and back to work. I will get this done before tomorrow morning!

Thanks very much for all the kind words guys!

That’s me back from the conversion competition. It was at my local Games Workshop for their birthday celebration. As it turns out, it was both a conversion competition and a painting competition, so I entered my Decimator alongside my Leviathan Siege Dread. Here's how the competition was looking.

Unfortunately I didn't win either competition, but t was a fantastic day all round.

There was a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each competition but unfortunately I can't quite remember which models won all three places, but I do know who won two of the places for each.

This guy won 1st place in both the painting and converting competition.

Here's the second place winner for the conversion competition (the one on the right obviously)

And this unit won 2nd or 3rd, I really don't remember which, for painting.

And a few more photos of the lot.

The Leviathan Siege Dread is assembled now, but I don't have any proper photos of it yet, so I'll get some tomorrow.

Man i can't imagine how long all that trim must've taken to sculpt... Very cool model, I especially like how you've cut up the helbrute torso, so cool

That's is very much man! Your absolutely right, the trims took ages to sculpt. And I've actually rvisit d it to add more! The Helbrute is a beautiful kit, but it doesn't really.fit the asthetics of my army. So I've just taken the bits I like.
