I have never heard of the Black Guard. Usually what happens with all these loyalist chapters breeding like rabbits when you are hanging in the eye of terror with the Enlightened Legions. ;) j/k

 

They sound pretty cool though. One thing I wonder then is what would a former primarch Honor Guard do if there was no primarch? Ever think they would search him out? Just something to throw out there. With how much the EC loved and adored Fulgrim I always wondered if any went looking for him. Pretty sure they would mostly want to check out the orgy planet but still.

Reinforcements have arrived! I've built a Black Guard sniper, who I've just realised has massive mold-lines. I've also working on some fluff for him, so that'll be posted later. I also built a Nurgle havoc/mutilator thingy, and I've started painting a BAngel and finished another Black Guard, so I hope you like 'em!

Hmm... that's actually a really good point. I may add in that one of their primary motives is searching for Corax amid all their plundering/raiding for resources. Thanks! I'll have some new fluff soon, so look out for that!

One last thing - you may have noticed that I took the pictures a bit differently; it just happened to be a bit easier for me that way. What is interesting, however, is that i used my dad's Samsung phone... and the pictures it took were a a better quality than my camera's. Do you prefer the different style of photos? Maybe just the old setup (with better pictures using the phone) for completed models? I'd appreciate feedback!

Quality of the pics are good enough for me. If you could get in some more lighting though it would help show off your painting more.

 

Everything also looks cool. Definitely digging the Nurgley thing. He is weird, creepy, and awesome. I also like lightning claws very much. The paint job is great and the pose compliments the idea of him striking from the shadows.

Sorry for the pause in posting, I've been busy with the start of school and all the pain that comes from moving house (especially with loads of expensive tiny little models everywhere)! Btw, shameless plug and all that, but... I've been doing stuff for the BotL which is on the forum, so do check it out - it's essentially an alternate heresy with unique primarchs/legions/events. Everyone there is awesome and really, really talented, and we'd appreciate it if anyone else could help out in regard to art/writing.

Which I find oddly cute in a strange way, and I now want to make a little squad of them as Nurgle devastator thingies. The serene buddha faced one (the Nurgle dude I've already done), the jesus-faced one, and the... facially interesting one I posted above. Oh dear. No offence to anyone who's buddhist, btw.

Awwww thanks BlueBelly! :) Yeah, the side projects definitely keep me engaged, and its fun painting stuff that isn't green once in a while! This thread's been dormant for a while, but I'm definitely thinking of reviving it as it kept me motivated. With the release of 8th ed, I've been sorta sidetracked from my Salamanders, as I'm going to develop a true-scale Black Legion war band... damn you A D-B and your ridiculously good Talon of Horus!!! *shakes fist angrily*
