I don't really like the FW Dark Angel head upgrades, but I could never quite put my finger on why until now. They look like Bane masks with the way they go broad across the lower face and then split the upper head into two sections with a strip in the middle.

Firewing?

Hoooooly....!

NOW THAT IS A SPOT.

And was made 6 months ago by others, more observant than I...  (march10k)...

It occurred to me that eloi (as in Eloi-7 Despoiler Squad that the Lance-Decurion is in) sounded a bunch like elohim (a variant Hebrew word for god) and one quick internet search later: eloi is Aramaic/Hebrew for 'my god'. If anyone wants some angel related word-things (including examples of 'celestial script'), pick up a copy of Gustav Davidson's "Dictionary of Angels" or read it on Scribed.

P.S.: If it turns out it's a "Time Machine" reference and counter-point to the Iron Hand Morlocks then I am very disappointed by the coincidence  .

EDIT: games-workshop keeps changing to games-workshop so I'm using Scribed instead. And I took out some unnecessary commentary.

EDIT2: elohim is also listed as one of the orders of angels by Moses Maimonides.

Updated based on Warhammer Community article, "the Firewing, who excel in destroying enemy command structures"

To expand on this a bit, unless the specifics have changed, the Forgeworld team at Warhammer Fest mentioned the Firewing specialising in assassination and cloak and dagger operations. Edited by Darkwrath121

Old news at this point, but figured I may as well put it here before this all ends up pointless when Crusade is released. I'll be updating the front post as well.

Marine on the left has an escutcheon with the Ravenwing symbol on it. The Lion has crossed keys over a tower within what may be an escutcheon; perhaps symbolizing his position as Master of the Rock/Tower of Angels. His helmet does not resemble the 2nd edition Lion Helm. Could be it comes from a later armour or it may not actually be the Primarch's (as was rumoured occasionally). Meanwhile, the sword hilt is a bang-on match for the one Cypher is currently carrying:

The Lion has the hexagrammaton symbol on his belt buckle. The left pauldron (his right, our left) has the profile of a lion. The colour scheme is exclusively black, red, and white which may just be because it looks good or maybe there's deeper meaning.

And the wing symbols:
